Chapter 15

Chloe's POV

Ugh. Daddy forgot to get gas for my limo. Now I have to walk to school. This is ridiculous. Utterly ridiculous.

After a while, I finally got to school. But before, I could walk in I saw Dupain-Cheng bolting out of the door and heading to the direction of the bathrooms. I had never seen Marine- I mean Dupain-Cheng run so fast.

Either way, I sashayed into the class with my pouty look as usual and sat down like the queen I am. As I sat down, I figured out that Adrien was holding hands with Lila. Bleh.

Wait- but why? Isn't he Mari's boyfriend?

"Adrikins!" I cry out in my usual manner. "What are you doing with that sausage-haired girl? I thought you were with Dupain-Cheng."

"Umm..." he started

"Actually, Adrien and I are now together," Lila chimed in happily

"WHAT?!!!" I yell. Okay, I have to be dreaming. I'd rather see Marinette with my Adrikins than to see sausage-hair holding hand with him and kissing him every now and then. And let's not start imagining the wedding. Ugh.

"It kills me to sat this, but I thought you had feelings for the baker girl."

"Not anymore. Especially after what she did to her ex-best friend," Alya said

"And what exactly did she do?" I ask.

"She hacked and shutdown my Ladyblog!"

I started to laugh.

"Alya Cesaire, are you sure you didn't hit yourself on the wall this morning? How could you say that Marinette Dupain-Cheng, who has never coded since I knew her could actually break into your account and destroy your most 'prized possession'" I air-quoted. "She's your best friend. Why would she ever do that?"

"Eerm...." Alya stammered

"Actually, Alya had told me that she and Marinette were fighting over how she was jealous of me because of all my connections and fame," Lila stated while looking innocent.

"Oh, really? Then why didn't Alya say it?" I smirked

"She was ashamed to do so. You know it's hard for her to confront her best friend," Lila countered

"But after throwing her and Mari's friendship out of the window, what is there to be ashamed for?" I asked intelligently. Wow. Watching 'Lawyers' Court' is really helpful

No one knew what to say.

"Exactly. Mari's been kind to you all since day one. But you were so blinded by this rat's 'fame' and 'connections' that you ran to her and forgot about the friend who stood up for you while I had wronged you. You should be ashamed of yourselves." And with that, I ran to the bathroom to look for Mari.

As I got to the bathroom I heard voices talking. One was Marinette's, while the other's I couldn't place very well.

"Marinette, please don't tell me you want to cut yourself," the voice said

Okay I have to stop this, but let me have a look

I then saw Mari looking at a knife and a small thing floating beside her.

Wait......

That small thing is a kwami?

Does this mean that.....

"Do I have a choice? No one wants me here. Everyone hates me. I'm so useless and good-for-nothing," Mari said

"That's not true, Marinette. You're kind, compassionate, caring and helpful to others, even to Chloe," the kwami said. Okay, that's true.

"You're a great designer and a wonderful Guardian. I can proudly tell the world that Marinette Dupain-Cheng is and would still be one of the best Ladybugs the world has ever known."

Oh my God! Marinette is Ladybug! I have been assaulting my hero. All the times I told Mari that she couldn't amount to anything, she was busy fighting villains that I had created. I feel so guilty...

My thoughts were interrupted as I hear Mari speak again.

"Just stop it Tikki! I don't know if this is your idea of a motivational message, but it isn't working. It's just better if you find a new Ladybug at least. No one cares for me, Tikki, not even you, because you just lied to me. I'm such a clutz. I make rash decisions on the job which have almost cost me the miraculous. If I had been smarter during Love Eater, then maybe I wouldn't be the guardian right now. Just leave me alone Tikki!"

Okay Mari has cracked.

"But Marinette-"

"SILENCE!" Wow. I never heard Mari scream with so much hurt before. What had the class done? What have I done?

I then see the kwami's mouth being sealed like a zip. Mari began to cut herself while I looked in horror. I should've gone there, but I was looking for the right time.

But I found out that the time was overdue when I saw Mari pointing the knife and bringing it towards her chest.

"MARINETTE STOP!!!" I scream while bursting through the bathroom door. Mari looked up and stood in shock. "Chloe?"

This is awkward.

Two chapters in one day? I'm on fire! 🔥 🔥 🔥

What would happen to Mari? Would she come out clean? Would Chloe tell her that she knows? Would Chloe reveal her identity to everyone?
