I look up at where the voice came from and put my hand above my face to shield the glare from the sun. A familiar black car was stopped in front of me with someone leaning out the front window. I stopped in front of the window and looked in. Liam and Miles were smiling at me while Kai had absolutely no distinctive emotion.

"Pardon?" I asked back, thinking I had misheard them.

"Do you need a lift?" Liam said again, his white teeth showing as he smiles.

"Why...?" I ask suspiciously. I had only known these people for an hour and they were asking me to get in the car with them.

"It's damn hot outside and you are from the UK and wearing long clothes plus you were limping," Miles cut in before Liam could answer.

I opened my mouth of argue back but closed it again when I realised, they were right.

"Just get in the car," Kai said, staring at me.

I rolled my eyes and got in the car, the cold aircon was welcome element. It was silent for a bit as Kai pulled out again and started driving.

"You realise you just got in a car with a bunch of guys you barely know right? Like you didn't know if we would kidnap you or not," Miles broke the silence.

I look at him. "Your point?"

He gave me a funny look back. "Well, what if we were going to kidnap you?"

I silently chuckle at this. "Yeah, I'm not worried about that, you guys don't really give off the kidnapper vibes."

Miles gives me a dramatic offended look and I outright laugh at it causing him to smile.

Liam turned around and looked back at us. "Where do you want us to drop you new girl?"

My smile dropped to my expressionless face. "Uhm anywhere works. If you're going past the beach that works."

Liam nodded and turned back around. I started fidgeting with my Mum's ring which was the only thing I have left of her that Dad didn't throw out. Miles must have noticed this and started talking again.

"So, Maeve, right?" I nodded. "Tell us about yourself."

"Uh well what do you want to know?" I question back.

"Ok well for starters, why did you leave London?" Miles started off.

Shit, think of a fake response Maeve. "Dad wanted to try something different." Well, it wasn't completely a lie.

Miles nodded at this.

"Do you have any siblings?" Liam asked.

A pained expression flittered across my face at the question. "Uhm no," I said back quietly. I wasn't about to dump my family shit on them. I have learned the safest way to live is not to open up to anyone, just deal with it myself.

"How do you like Australia?" Kai asked, glancing in his mirror to look at me for a second.

"It's fucking hotter than the devil's tits here," I grumble back causing Liam and Miles to crack up and Kai to silently laugh under his breath.

"Well, I'm not wrong," I state back, folding my arms.

"Well, no but also you are wearing long pants and long sleeves plus a hoodie and beanie," Liam stated back. I glared at him and he shut up.
