TW: Alcoholism.

Afterlife.

Taylor wakes up and sees candles lit all around the room, she, also, sees needles in her and Skye's skin, they're getting acupuncture. However, the tips of these needles glow red and send the red energy down into the skin they are pierced into. Taylor looks over at Skye's face as she awakes with a confused look. She looks down at her body to see all the needles sticking out of it.

"Hey." Gordon greets the girls. "Everything's going to be okay. You're safe now."

"Gordon, where am I?" Skye asked.

"This is the place we told you about." Taylor answered for him.

"Taylor called for me. Do you remember?" He asked.

"How long have we been here?" Taylor asks before Skye can reply.

"Two days." He replied, casually. They look at him shocked. "Hey, you were here a lot longer than that when you first got here." He pointed at Taylor while saying this.

"T–t–I need to–I need to go." Skye stutters. She strains against the bed. "They need us. Something bad has happened." She strains to get up again but all she can move is her head. "Oh, why can't I move?" She starts to pant, frightened. "What are you doing to me?" Just as Taylor was about to speak, Lincoln walked in.

"We're healing you." He answered.

"Lin." Taylor smiled. He reciprocated then continued.

"Leaving now wouldn't exactly be–" He chuckles as he walks over to them. "You ever made microwave popcorn?" Taylor scoffs. He stops at a computer monitor looking over at her. "Leave it in too long and it's charcoal. Take it out too soon and it's a bag of kernels." He glances at her then shakes his head and goes back to the computer.

"That might be the worst analogy ever." Taylor comments as Lin looks at Gordon.

"Gordo, help me out here." He says.

"You are on your own with this one." He looks down at Skye giving her a smile. "I have to go now. You're in very good hands. Taylor knows that." Gordon leans in closer to Skye and lowers the volume of his voice to a staged whisper. "He's smarter than he looks."

"How do you know that?" Lincoln asks. Taylor laughs. They both smile at each other as Gordon straightens and walks out of the room. Skye glances at Lin then looks up at the ceiling. "He's been by both your sides since the moment you got here."

"Who are you?" Skye asks. She looks at him and he looks up from a tablet.

"Sorry. I thought–I'm Lincoln, both of your transitioner. Right." Lin explains. He walks over to them. "I– I keep forgetting you're new to this because Taylor's not. E–Everyone who goes through terrigenesis has, uh, a transitioner to help them." Taylor groans a little.

"Lin, I know I need one, but does it have to be you?" Taylor jokes, they laugh. Skye just looks between them.

"Please cut to the chase, I..." Skye stops speaking when the needles glow red again and she takes in the feeling of it.

"Right, yeah. Let me start from the top." He grabs a chair and sets it down next to Skye's bed sitting in it. "Imagine a thousand years of evolution taking place instantaneously. That's what happened to you after the mist. These treatments, we're helping your body adjust properly to the change, transitioning you quickly and painlessly, I hope. We usually like to start the process right after the mist, but as–"

"How long?" Skye asks. She looks at him and he gives her a confused look. "How long? When can we go?"

"You got places to be? People to see?" He laughs a bit.

"I'm worried about our friends. I think they're in danger." Skye tells him. Lin looks over to Taylor.

"We're the one that's in danger, Skye. Remember? We're being hunted." Taylor reminds. Skye looks at her, then down and away as she remembers that's true. Taylor's just glad that her and Skye are safe. Especially with Lincoln. She had been to Afterlife recently but everytime she left she missed it a little more.

The girls are now up off the table and dressed in her clothes as Lincoln re-enters the room.

"How are you two feeling?" Lin asks. Skye turns to the door and sighs a bit.

"Kind of normal." Skye replied.

"Normal's good." Lin tells her.

"Yeah."
