Chapter 22 - Finale.

S.O.S. Part 2.

When there, the door gets kicked in. May, Taylor and Hunter hurry up the steps, guns drawn, as other soldiers follow after them. May leads the way for the team through the hallways. A hallway branches off and she waves Taylor, Hunter and some soldiers down that way then continues on. Taylor and Hunter hurried through the hallways with their soldier. They come upon an intersection of hallways, and he points down one.

"Taylor, Take that hallway. Check every room." They split as Hunter looks over his shoulder. "Bob?" Taylor hears him say as she disappears with the soldier. They come across another intersection. She turns to the soldier.

"Go down that one. Not a room unchecked." Taylor orders. The soldier nods and disappears. After endlessly looking in different rooms, Taylor hears crying in the hallway next to her. She ran to find the source of the sound and she found Ward crouched down with his back to her. She quietly walks up to him and puts her gun against his head. "I wouldn't pin you as the crying type." He chuckled lightly at this. She looks over his shoulder to see Kara dead in his arms. Raina's words come back to her.

"You won't need to worry about that girlfriend of his."

Taylor gasps slightly. It's all coming true. She wasn't surprised it was just unexpected. "Who killed her?" Taylor asked, knowing Kara was a fairly decent human being. Kara didn't deserve this fate. She heard Ward mumble something, but she didn't quite catch it. "What?"

"I did." He said honestly. Taylor's brows furrowed slightly. He turns to face her, still on the floor. "She was posing as May. So, I killed her, not knowing it was her." Taylor doesn't lower her gun, instead puts her finger on the trigger. She knew it was the right thing to do. May would. Hunter would. But she's not May nor is she Hunter. Grant starts to cry into his hands. Taylor had never seen him like this before. "Do it." Ward spoke up, lifting his head from his hands. "Pull the trigger." Taylor's hand started to shake slightly. "I deserve it." Taylor shook her head at this statement. That's what everyone said to her. 

'He's a traitor. He deserves it. He's the bad guy.' 

She always knew that wasn't true. She still believed that. She lowered her gun and put it back in her waistband. She held her hand out to him. He took it and she helped him off the ground then, she pulled him into her embrace where he broke down in her arms. She hated seeing him like this. When they pulled apart, she sent him a sad smile which he reciprocated. She used her thumbs to wipe away the tears from his face. He looked down at her then his eyes flickered to her lips. "I kept my promise, did you keep yours?" He asked. She just nodded. He smiled as she put her arms around his neck, pulling him down to her height. He closed the space between them, sealing their fate. Taylor knew she couldn't change the future. What's written is written. However, she could postpone it. She couldn't let this happen. She heard distant footsteps then she snapped back to reality. She broke the kiss making Grant frown slightly.

"If you stay here, they'll kill you." Taylor stated.

"Maybe I-" Ward started but Taylor put her hand over his mouth, shaking her head.

"Don't say that." Taylor snapped. "No one deserves that. Everyone deserves a second chance. You didn't let me finish anyway. I'm not gonna let that happen. I'm gonna get you out of here." She removes her hand from his mouth. She knows she shouldn't but she couldn't help herself

"You'll help me escape?" He asks. She raises a brow at him.

"You really think I'm gonna make it that easy after what you've done? Maybe I can't let you die but I won't stop you from turning around and running out of the door." She told him. He went to turn away when he stopped.
