Melinda
Lincoln and Taylor are sitting in her room, chatting and catching up. They laugh at each other and the memories of the past. They enjoy each other's company but not too much. As they talk about the past Lincoln realises something he hadn't thought about in a long time. Obviously, he wasn't going to tell her what he was thinking. She'd already rejected him once; he wasn't going to let that happen again. Taylor was rambling about something, but Lincoln wasn't listening. He was just studying her facial expressions. Taylor noticed him staring so stopped talking.
"What? Do I have something on my face?" Taylor asked, chuckling slightly. Lincoln snapped out of his trance.
"What? Oh, no sorry." Lin stumbled over his words. Taylor laughed a little, making him smile.
"What was it? Did I say something?" Taylor asked.
"No, it's nothing. Carry on with your story Tay." Lin dismissed her. She did as she was told and continued. He still wasn't listening, but he knew that once she'd leave, she wouldn't be back in a while, so he was memorising her face and the expressions on it. He loves how she has such concentration on her face when she tries to remember things and the way that the corner of her eyes crinkles when she smiles. On the other hand, while telling the story, Taylor was thinking about what she'd heard Lincoln say to her when he thought she was asleep.
"I love you. Always have. Always will."
Taylor always had the feeling that he still loved her, but she never wanted to admit it because of either Ward or Mack. She loved him but not as much as before. He'll always know that and understand why. She wanted to love him just as much but there was always that night in the back of her head. It was the same with Ward. She wanted to love him, but she couldn't, she told herself it was for the best that she didn't but there was always the voice in the back of her head, knowing that he still loves her. Then she always remembers the promise she made to him.
"Taylor, you have to promise me that no matter what I do or say you have to remember that I still love you no matter what. Agreed?"
"Grant, what are you-"
"Promise me." He says, gripping on her hands just a little tighter.
"I promise." She assured, kissing him on the cheek.
She knew that no matter what, he'd always love her more than anyone else. That was partly because of everything that they went through together. He knew that he and Kara wouldn't last long purely because he still loves Taylor too much. Whenever he kisses Kara, he compares it to Taylor. No one could compare in his eyes, not even Skye. One day he's gonna have to explain to Taylor that what he did at Providence was just to get information out of her and not anything genuine. When he called her wanting to meet up and she told him to move on that's exactly what he did. Maybe with the wrong person but who was he to judge?
When Taylor walked into Ward's room with her brother he was beyond surprised. He hoped she'd be jealous, and she was. When he called again and ranted down the phone to him, calling him a traitor, he wasn't surprised, but he was confused. She'd told him to move on, then was angry when he did. He always did what he could to try and win her back so after that phone call he tried pushing Kara away, but she was too attached. The number of times he'd thought of just killing her and getting it over with was mind blowing but he knew Taylor would've wanted to do that so refrained from doing that. He'd just hoped that an opportunity would pop up so he could reconnect with Taylor and the team. He will always regret what he did to that team. He punishes himself for it every day. He knows he should've taken Taylor's advice and betrayed Garrett. The more he thinks about it, the more he knows Taylor was right about what she'd said.
