1906

IT WAS THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT, AND THE ONLY THING YOU COULD HEAR IN Downton WAS THE SOUND OF TWO CHILDREN LAUGHING. Louise and Sybil were bouncing in bed while Louise recited her favorite part of her book.

"Oh Billy, this is my favourite part,

All my heart is yours, sir: it belongs to you; and with you it would remain, were fate to exile the rest of me from your presence forever.

I wish I could feel that way some day" she said while dropping herself onto the bed.

"Oh Lou, you are a hopeless romantic '' said Sybil while laughing at her. "I just want to fall in love, like in all the stories I read "she answered her sister in a dreamy way.

A couple of moments later, after Mary came to her room demanding they go to sleep, and Sybil had already left, Louise was in bed, dreaming about the type of future she wanted. She wished for a love so passionate and strong like all the love stories she had read. With that, she blew out her candle and waited for another day she could fill with books and her dearest sisters.
