So This Is Love?

So this is love?

We sat there smiling at each other. The sun beginning to set the heat starting to disappear. As I begin to shiver and my teeth begin to chatter they swing their arm around me squeezing me closer to them, pulling me onto their lap nuzzling their nose into my neck. I could feel their grin against my skin, their soft warm lips against me. I lean my head back onto their shoulder and continue to watch the sun lower and lower. They trace circles into the skin of my thigh fidgeting. I wanted to stay there for hours with them. I fidget slightly moving so I was facing them properly, my back no longer facing them, I bury my face into their neck trying to steal their heat as the night grows colder pulling the sleeves of my jumper over my hands wrapping around them. Peppering kisses over their neck lightly breathing against them. They smirk slightly only just seeing the faint blush on my cheeks, the moon lighting the sky dimly, I shake my head lightly at them laughing quietly. The trees around us swaying slightly I stare at them for a while before they begin to look confused

"What?" They said smiling sheepishly

"I'm so lucky." I responded whispering

"Yeah right." They said not believing me

"Honestly, I'm so lucky to have you." I sighed contentedly

They just shake their head in response, looking up at the stars. I turned back around and sat in between their legs my back leaning against their chest. We stared at the stars, every now and then catching the other staring. Cuddling deeper into each other like hedgehogs. They kiss all over my neck, their lips touch my skin softer than a feather. I smile at the happiness I feel in the moment. They stop and start to lean their head slightly over my right shoulder, they use their thumb and pointer finger to move my head to look at them. They look from my eyes slowly to my lips licking their own. They smile lightly, slowly beginning to lean in tilting their head slightly to the right, I mirror their actions. I slowly start to close my eyes as we get closer my heart pounding in my chest, their thumb rubs against my bottom lip tenderly. Their eyes gingerly fluttering shut as our lips delicately graze against each other, it was deliberate and gentle, full of our emotions spilling over our mouths. We both smile at each other and look back to the stars that filled the sky to the brim, all with a reason or cause to be there even if no one knew what the reason or cause was. We sat there for hours staring at the landscape while holding each other tight, neither of us noticed how long it had been till the sun started to rise. The heat coming back and the light beginning to shine, I took this opportunity to admire them. They were perfect whether it was the slightly uneven smile, their shiny bright eyes or their freckled skin. They were perfect in that moment and any other.
