THE OPENING OF THE POKÉMON INDIGO LEAGUE

Our heroes has finally reach the Indigo Plateau of the renown Pokémon League

"Nee-chan, how far do you think you'll get in the Indigo League?" Takato asked his sister.

ash blinked, "Well... not sure really. Though I would like to win it, but as you know that trying to win the league isn't that easy." She answered, "So, I'll just hope that I will make it through the Preliminary Rounds. That's a start."

"I think you'll do great ash nee chan." Mairin smiled.

"Chespin. (Same here.)" Chespie smiled.

"Thanks you two." ash said.

Brock smiled, 'Though, I wouldn't be surprised if you win it because I've seen your Pokémon Level is at high.' He thought.

Alain let out a small smile at them.

Just then they approached a large fanfare and a lot of people with small flags.

"Erm, okay... What is that about?" Takato asked.

"They must be waiting for the torchbearer." Brock replied.

"Torchbearer?" ash blinked, "Oh wait, isn't that someone who runs to the Indigo League Stadium with a flaming torch and lights up a huge flame that burns during the entire Pokémon League Competition. Am I right?" She said.

"That's correct and the flame is supposed to be a form inspiration for the competitors. They also say that the flame is supposed to be of a Moltres." Brock explained.

"Moltres?" Mairin said.

"The Legendary Bird of Fire; Moltres." Alain answered, "Also known as one of Legendary Birds of Kanto."

Brock nodded, "That's right."

ash got really curious now, she pulled out her Pokédex and looked up the Pokémon.

[Moltres, the Flame Pokémon. When Moltres gets hurt, some say it dives into an active volcano and heals itself by bathing in lava. This Legendary Pokémon can give off flames and control fire.

Note: Moltres is one of the three Legendary Birds of Kanto.]

ash whistled amazed by this.

Takato saw the flame, "Wow, it would so cool if we could be the torchbearer." He said.

Mairin nodded, "Yeah, it would be so much fun."

"It would." ash agreed.

"Excuse me. But did you three say that you want to be a torchbearer?" A grandfatherly voice asked from behind them.

The gang turned around and saw an old man, with long beard, red jacket with green shorts and white socks with sneakers, a purple cap pulled behind on his head.

"Erm, I'm sorry but who are you?" ash asked.

"This is the Honorable Charles Goodshow, President of the Pokémon League in all the Regions." An Officer Jenny spoke up.

"Nice to you meet you." The gang greeted the President of the Pokémon League.

"Hohoho, I heard you would like to be a Torch Bearer." Mr. Goodshow said.

Takato and Mairin nodded, "Ah ha, it would be fun." They said.

Mr. Goodshow laughed and patted both kids on the head, "Thats the spirit and you shall too. You all could join if you want?" He asked them.

"I'm up for it." ash smiled.

"Pikapi! (Me too!)" Light smiled.

"It's a once in a life time opportunity." Brock said.
