San closed the door behind him and locked it. Leaving him and his daughter alone to have a private talk. San sits on a sofa nearby the bed and Hae-Won leans against the window frame and crossed her arms.

"What do you want to talk about?" San asked to start the conversation.

"Did you win the battle?"

"I did."

"Alright then, what's your next plan? Are you going to continue being heartless like this or is there something you're hiding?" Hae-Won shoot the question being straightforward and made her dad freeze for a second.

"I'm just going to tell you the truth about everything alright? I can't say this in front of your mother's face," San sighs and Hae-Won nodded then sit at the edge of the bed to closely listen to her father.

SAN'S POV

"My father and your mom's father have been friends since they were in junior high school. Since my father died of a heart attack, that means I have to be the next king to replace my father's throne and at that time your mom is my soon-to-be bride," I chuckled with a sad tone and let out a big sigh again before I continue.

"I didn't love him at first and we never met, except in a dance ball a few months before our parents decided to force a marriage between us because of an alliance our fathers have been working on for years. I was scared and nervous, of course, because my dad isn't on my side anymore but I had no choice," I take a breath and swallowed my saliva because it is going to be a long story.

"From there I started working with your mom's father a lot to make this alliance happen. To the point where at first he acted like an asshole but it slowly started to fade into a more professional him every time we met for work. Since we met each other a lot, one night he tells me something about my father and what he did until my view about my father changed completely," I noticed Hae-Won came a little closer towards me to hear better as she gets interested.

"Wait, you said that mom's father acted like an asshole right? Is it because he's bad at work or off work?" Hae-Won asked her father out of curiosity.

"He's good at his job and maintaining the work environment, but he treats mom like an object you could say. He would abuse him, almost even killed him when he's drunk."

Hae-Won frowned her eyebrows, not liking the part that I just said. After that she made me continue the story.

"Your mother's dad told me that your grandpa killed the King of Dystopia's wife and two of his kids. He did it because he was blinded by crowns, titles, territory takeovers, overall he wants to be above any kind of person and would do anything to achieve it. But you see, he hides those obsessions very well from me and my mom."

"As for your mother's dad, he's also blinded by the same thing like my father but not that much. Even though he tells me a story of my father that I loved the most in this world, he's still a very evil, manipulative, sarcastic motherfucker. That's why I don't let any of you meet him or his wife."

END OF SAN'S POV

Hae-Won covers her mouth because of the story her dad told her.

The truth is so gruesome yet sad according to Hae-Won. Gruesome because of his grandfather's doings and sad because her father has to go through it at such a young age and also her mom's past.

"That was a hell of a ride. Dad, why aren't you telling me or mom earlier about this? Why do you have to hide it?" She said in disbelief and worried voice.

"I can't think about how I'm going to say it to him. I can't even believe that my dad did that just because of this stupid alliance and desire. I also can't bear your mom's reactions are going to be. He cares for my father so much, I don't want his view towards my father to change. He treats your mother like his own child more than his real father treats him."
