Chapter Twenty Five

*Charlotte's POV*

"What do you mean you took it?" I raised my voice a little.

"Well," Zayn sighed. His brown eyes shined from the tears he was already shedding. "That day we went to the beach here in Oz, you had put your necklace with your phone and clothes. You went into the water with everyone and soon I had gone to sit down. I noticed the necklace, and without thinking twice, I slipped it into my pocket." He paused, noticing I had started crying, then continued, "I wanted you and Niall to drift apart a little. I'm so sorry. I regr-"

"WHY ON EARTH WOULD YOU WANT NIALL AND I TO DRIFT APART?" I screamed.

"B-because," he went silent.

"ZAYN!" I crossed my arms.

"BECAUSE I LOVE YOU, OK?" He yelled back.

I stepped back, gasping. Snatching the necklace, I pushed passed Zayn and ran out. Without saying a word to anyone, I ran through the dining room, down the hall, up the stairs and into my room.

"Charlie, can I come in?" Stacey knocked.

"Is anyone with you?" I sat on my bed.

"Just Niall," she replied.

I slowly walked over to the large door, and opened it a little, to make sure that it really was only Stacey and Niall. When I realised the coast was clear, I opened the door for them, and went back to my bed.

"What happened?" The question shot out of Niall's mouth faster than he could swallow.

They came and sat next to me.

"Zayn was the one who took my necklace. He had it all along." I held it in my hands, observing it.

Niall already began getting angry.

"He also told me he l-loved me," I spat out.

Now Niall was angry. With his fists clenched, he began for the door.

"Niall, please don't! Just stay here." I said.

He hesitated, but soon sat next to me again.

"How do you feel about him?" Stacey asks.

"I love him, but only like a brother. I couldn't think of Zayn as anything more. He said he wanted Niall and me to drift apart because he loved me. He probably felt that we were too close, and he wouldn't have had a chance, but it only made Niall and me closer."

*Louis' POV*

"You told her you loved her?" I said.

Zayn had just come in and told us what happened. We were utterly shocked. I mean, I knew he loved her, he had told me before, but I was shocked that he decided to tell her.

He nodded.

"Well, you can't love her. She is with Niall and she loves him." Liam stated.

"Thanks Captain Obvious!" Zayn retorted.

Liam mumbles he's sorry and we kind of just stand there.

"Look," Zayn finally said, "I know I can't love her. I know I shouldn't have taken her necklace and I know she loves Niall. I need to talk to her, that's all."

He walks off up the stairs.

*Charlotte's POV*

The door is wide awake, and Zayn enters. Niall starts getting angry again.

"Niall, stop," I whisper.

He relaxes.

"Let me talk," Zayn says.

"No, let me talk." I snap. "Zayn, I love you, but as a brother. You are the one I go to, when I need advice on guys. I just got back together with Niall, and I never plan on letting him go. I know you love me, but you can't. You stole my necklace, for your own selfish reasons. I'm sorry, but I love Niall."

"I know, that's what I wanted to talk to you about. I know you love Niall, that's why I'm going to find someone else. I will find another girl I can love just as much as I love you. If you were to date anyone, I'm glad it's Niall. He's funny, good looking and a great guy. You deserve him, and he deserves you. I understand. And I will forever regret taking that necklace. I'm so sorry for ever hurting you. I'm so sorry for taking the necklace. I'm so sorry for not being the brother that you love me for."

I run up to him and hug him, crying tears of joy.

After we pull away, Zayn says, "Niall, I'm sorry. You're one lucky guy to have Kaci. Never let her go. I'm sorry. Are we good?"

After a few seconds of thought, Niall gives in and hugs Zayn, "Yeah, we're good."

Yes.

We are all good.
