Maggie stood in the kitchen making breakfast since she was the first one up when Steve came in, all sweaty from running. She only thought she was the first one up. She watched him walk up next to her, grabbing a water from the fridge. "Good morning Captain. I made some eggs and sausage, do you want some?"

He nodded his head as he sat at the table, "yeah. Thanks." He smiled at her as she placed a plate of food in front of him.

She poured a cup of coffee and offered it to him, "coffee?"

"Thank you Margaret."

She turned back to him, "why do you call me Margaret?"

Steve laughed, "well that is your name isn't it? Does it bother you?"

She made herself some food and sat across from him, "it is my name, yes. No it doesn't bother me. Just not used to it. Everyone calls me Maggie."

He leaned forward in his seat, "well is it okay if I call you Margaret?"

"Of course." She mumbled under her breath, "at least you're talking to me." She began to eat her breakfast as she watched him. Was he warming to her? She wasn't sure.

They weren't alone long before everyone else started to pile into the kitchen, all thanking her for making breakfast. Thor sat next to her, nudging her shoulder, "good morning little one."

"Hey." She nudged him back, still watching Steve. He didn't seem as warm as he did when it was just them. She sighed as she stood up, putting her things in the sink. She began to wash the dishes as she felt Steve behind her. He pressed his body to hers, making her heart start to race as she felt his body heat. He leaned down and took the dishes from her, "I'll do it. You made breakfast."

She looked up at him and thought she saw a smile, "thanks Captain."

He couldn't get over how hearing her call him 'Captain' made him feel. He shook his head, "when we're not on mission call me Steve. Please."

"Sure." She dried her hands, leaving him to do the dishes. She turned back as she started to exit the kitchen to see him still watching her.

She about ran into Sharon on her way, "watch it!"

"I'm so sorry Sharon. I wasn't paying attention."

Sharon smiled at her, "it's fine. Really. I'm sorry I snapped at you."

Maggie watched Sharon approach Steve at the sink, running her hand across his arm. It made her jealous for some reason. She hadn't realized they were together. That must have been why he wouldn't dance with her. She watched the interaction for a moment. Sharon seemed more into it than Steve, but he smiled down at her anyways, planting a small kiss on her lips. Maybe that's why he hated her, because Sharon was jealous. Maggie sighed and walked back to her bedroom running into Bucky in the hall. "Good morning Bucky."

He stopped and smiled at her, "good morning Maggie." She half smiled at him, continuing to walk, but he grabbed her hand, "what's the matter doll?"

She stopped and looked at him. Did he call her doll? "Um. Nothing. I'm fine. Just having a hard time settling in still I guess."

He took a step towards her, running his flesh hand softly across her cheek, "so sad doll."

She stood for a minute, looking into his eyes, feeling like he could see right through her. She had never met anyone that could see her, understand her so quickly. It made her nervous. She stepped back from him, wiping a tear from her eye, "I'm fine." She walked away quickly to her room before he could say anything else.

Maggie sat, reading on her bed when she heard a knock on the door as it opened, "Mr. Stark. Can I help you with something?"

"Conference room. Come on." He started to walk away before she had even stood up. She sighed and followed him down to the conference room, taking the only free seat left next to Steve. She watched him shift in his seat as she sat next to him.

"We need to send two of you undercover to retrieve some intel about some Hydra bases." Tony looks at Steve. "Steve. Maggie. I've decided to send you."

Maggie watched him share a look with Natasha as he looked back at Steve.

"Why her? I can go with him." Sharon stood up, looking annoyed.

Maggie started to say something but Steve leaned forward, "I don't know if she's ready Tony. I'd rather go with Sharon, or Natasha."

Tony shook his head, "no. I have something else for them. This is for you two." He smiled and pointed at them. "You'll leave first thing in the morning."

She watched Steve get up and storm out of the room. She barely made it back to her own room as the tears started to fall. She didn't know why he hated her so much. She had thought he was warming up to her. She almost didn't hear the knock on the door. She wiped her tears away quickly, opening the door to find Bucky in front of her, "what do you want?"

Bucky watched Maggie open the door, seeing she had been crying. He wanted to wrap his arms around her, to hold her. Kiss her. But he didn't. "I wanted to check on you. I just got here, so I don't know what's going on with you and Steve. Just know he's a complicated person. He likes to keep most things to himself. Takes a while for him to open up. Looks like that may be something you have in common."

Maggie rolled her eyes as she turned away from him, "there's nothing complicated about it. He hates me for some unknown reason. That's it."

Bucky chuckled, making her turn to face him. "Steve doesn't hate anyone. He doesn't have the capacity to feel that sort of emotion."

"Sure." She sees Thor behind him, "I'll see you later Bucky." She motions for Thor to enter her room, shutting the door on Bucky. "What's up Thor?"

"I have to go home. I wanted to see you off before your mission. Are you okay little one?" He wrapped his arms around her waist, pulling her into a hug.

Maggie rested her head on his chest as she wrapped her arms around his neck, "I'm fine. Thanks for checking on me." She looked up at him as he softly caressed her cheek. There was something different about their interaction, but she didn't know what it was. "Thor?"

"I'll see you soon little one." He bent down, kissing her on the cheek before leaving her alone in her room.
