Chapter 12

Maggie woke up early in the morning before sunrise, not being able to sleep. She started to read her book, but started to feel antsy. She got out of bed and dressed in running clothes, heading out to the track. She found Bucky running already in only shorts. He stopped when he saw her approach the track, "can't sleep doll?"

"No. You?" She felt the heat radiating off of him as he moved inches from her.

"Thinking about our date?"

Maggie laughed, "maybe." She teased him, grabbing the band of his shorts. He leaned into her, his mouth barely grazing hers causing her to moan.

He pulled away, laughing. He knocked her hands away from his shorts, "can't wait until the date?"

"It's so long away James." She pressed her body to his, trying to kiss him but he only laughed again.

"Run with me doll. I'll go slow." He laughed as he heard her groan as he started to run away from her. He was enjoying teasing her, he knew how much she wanted him. She knew he wasn't going to be as easy as Steve. She chased after him, him speeding up every time she got near him.

She eventually gave up as the sun started to rise. "Fine. You win." He laughed as he followed her into the compound, her collapsing on the floor next to the kitchen table. "Not really the work out I prefer, James." She heard him laugh as he tossed a water bottle at her, hitting her in the stomach. She grunted as she grabbed it, setting it to the side. She heard someone approach as she looked up to see an upside down Steve smirking at her.

"Decide to run with Buck this morning?" He moved to her feet, holding his hands out to her.

She accepted his help, grabbing his hands. "Yeah. Bad idea. You super soldiers are fast." She sat at the kitchen table, Steve sitting across from her, watching her as people started to file in. She moved her foot to Steve's leg, running it up and down softly, watching him smile as she did.

"So, how was the date last night?" She looked at Natasha who sat next to Steve.

Steve didn't stop looking at Maggie as he answered for them, "it was good."

"And everyone slept in their own beds?" Everyone laughed as Sam entered, sitting next to Natasha.

Maggie looked at Bucky as he turned to look at her from the stove, "yes. Everyone slept in their own beds." She locked eyes with Bucky, making sure he understood she didn't have sex with Steve. He smiled at her as he brought food over for everyone, sitting next to Maggie. She stiffened in her seat when she saw Sharon approach behind Steve.

Steve saw her face change and turned around to look behind him. "What are you doing here Sharon?" He looked back at Maggie and she could tell he looked upset.

Sharon put her hand on Steve's shoulder, angering Maggie. "I'm here to see Tony. I just wanted to see you Steve. Can we talk?" Maggie started to get up but she felt Bucky's hand on her leg. She looked at him as he shook his head. She sighed and sat back in her chair as she watched Steve hesitantly get up and follow Sharon out of the kitchen.

"Such restraint." She looked up at Natasha who was smirking at her as everyone laughed, making Maggie laugh too. She waited a minute before going after them, finding them in the hallway outside Steve's room.

"I already said no, Sharon."

Maggie held back a minute to watch their interaction. Sharon was trying to get him into his room with her but he kept saying no. "Okay." Maggie walked walked up to them, "hey guys! What's going on?"

Sharon shook her head, "nothing to concern yourself with."

"Sure." She looked up at Steve, "shall we?" She grabbed his hand before either of them could say anything and pulled him into his room, shutting the door on Sharon. They laughed when they heard her stomp off.
