Chapter 7 (Double The Love)

Rem stood there in utter shock and disbelief at the information Subaru presented to her. She couldn't believe it, her own sister is going on a date with a knight

"Really Nee-Sama is going on a date with a knight!" Rem said excitedly

"Yup, I have a famous way with words. I was able to convince him to visit the mansion to have dinner with her" 

Rem had the brightest smile plastered across her face. She was so happy for Ram. She couldnt believe Subaru actually did that for her own sister. Rem dropped the groceries and hugged Subaru tightly

"Thank you Subaru" Rem said looking up at him

"Your welcome Rem. I am going to go drop by and say hi to the children quickly. Then we need to go back and prepare Ram for her date" Subaru said. Rem nodded her head and let go of Subaru to pick the groceries back up

Subaru walked off to go find the children. He knew that they would be worried about him since he hasn't visited in almost three weeks

Subaru eventually heard familiar childish laughter near the field. He looked in the direction it came from, and found the children playing around as they normally did

One of the children noticed Subaru looking at them and smiled brightly and pointed at him "Subarus back!" he yelled out. All the children turned their heads to the direction he was pointing. They all smiled upon seeing Subaru there waving at them

"Subaru!" Petra yelled out as she ran towards him. The children all followed her

"Where have you been we were so worried" Petra said as she latched onto Subaru and hugged him tightly

"Long story, I had to go back to my home country to visit my parents" Subaru lied as he petted Petra on the head. Subaru knew he could not tell the children where he really was. It was a variety of not wanting to explain it, and fear of the consequences that may follow

"Well we are so glad you're back, we missed you alot!"

"Thank you, I missed you too. As much as I would love to stay longer, I need to go back and prepare for dinner. A very special guest is coming over" Subaru said. The children were sort of disappointed Subaru had to go so soon, but were glad he was back nonetheless

"Who's coming over?" Petra asked curiously. Subaru smiled and stood tall

"A royal knight is coming over" Subaru said. All the children looked at each other in amazement that an actual knight was going to be having dinner with Subaru

Petra then remembered seeing someone who looked like a knight in the village. She remembered his formal clothing, and his red hair

"Does the knight have red hair?" Petra asked curiously

"Yes actually he does, he is currently staying in the village for a week" Subaru said. The children's faces lit up again at the possibility of going to meet a royal knight. Subaru noticed Rem walk up to him, he took that as his indication that he should head back

"Oh look Rems here, I have to go now see you guys later!" Subaru said as he walked towards Rem

"Goodbye Subaru, come back soon. Also hi Rem Rem" Petra shouted out. Rem smiled at Petra and waved

"The children seem happy to have you back" Rem said looking at Subaru

"Yah they can't get enough of me" Subaru said laughing a bit. Rem giggled

"Nobody can get enough of you, Subaru"

Subaru and Rem watched as the children went to enter the village. Probably trying to meet the knight Subaru was talking about
