Korah

Walking from the bus stop to school is the best feeling ever. Or rather, walking from the bus stop to my new school is a dream come true.
“How do you feel to be at Bingham?”. A not too slender lady in white knee length gown couple with a black suit jacket, her hair packed in a tight neat bun to complement her oval face. In short, she is pretty. Almost mistook her for a student.

“I feel great, literally. Its so nice to be here”. I answered, smiling and looking around the teachers staff room. A very spacious and accommodating environment with air conditioners, a refrigerator and neatly arranged books in every corner of the shelf.

Other teachers seem to be preoccupied to notice me staring.

“I'm Mrs Rodanim”. She start, interrupting my sight viewing. “And I'm going to be your homeroom teacher”.

She doesn't look married, trust me.

Tucking a part of my hair in my ear,I nod slowly as she brings out some textbooks and files out of her neatly arranged drawer.

“Fill this and submit before Friday”. She said, giving me a paper I didn't bother checking before stuffing in my bag pack.

“Yes,I will ”. I return with a small smile.
“Good morning Mrs Rodanim”. A girl greeted, standing next to me with books in her hands. She is putting on the same uniform with me which is a combination of wine pleated skirt, white inner long sleeve, stripe black & wine tie, a pitch black suit jacket, black long socks and a pair of mix coloured sneakers. Her uniform neatly ironed.
I low key already feel intimidated.
Mrs Rodanim smiles. “Good morning Tatiana”.

Tatiana,copy that!

“Here is our assignment from last week”. She says, tossing the books to the teacher who gently places it on her table.

“Less I forget, this is your new classmate. Korah Raamah__”
“Korah Raamah Jokshan”. I help her complete. “Just call me Korah”.

She turn to me,reveling her full face. “Korah..hey. Welcome to Bingham high”. She smiles, looking at me.

Tatiana is dark skinned like me. She has this white eyes, long lashes and pulp lips. A bit taller than me too. If not for the fact that she's on uniform, I would say she's two years older.
Apparently, we're all just eighteen.

“Thanks”. I return a smile.
“Go ahead,I'll come with her to class”. Our teacher told her.
“See you in class”. She pat my shoulder before going.

I watch her leave elegantly.
Mrs Rodanim arranged a few things on her table before standing. “Let's go”.

I followed her out, into the elevator and down to the hallway.

Yep,this school literally have elevators.

Seeing some students chatting around while some closing their lockers and heading to class.

Also, the school gym and basketball court which is three time bigger than my former school.

This school is packed. Even with the fact that the fee is up to five thousand dollars per term.

Lucky for me,I'm on scholarship for the rest of my high school days here in Bingham.

What can I say...I'm pretty good with books.
“Who is she?”.

“Is she new?”.
I heard as me and Mrs Rodanim stroll to class.
I just can stop smiling and staring around. Trust me,there's a lot to look at.

“Gina Jackson?”. My eyes pop out at the sight of the governor's daughter. She glance at me and turned to her friends.

I shallow hard and fasten my steps to meet Mrs Rodanim who's ahead.
