If Heaven Was A Place

Tatiana still tried avoiding me,keeping to herself throughout first and second period.
“Tatiana”. I called with a baby voice,standing beside her desk. “Guess who I saw at the hotel yesterday ”.

Her face showed a bit of curiosity. “Who?”. She asked without affection.
“Evan”. I lean in to whisper,smiling and pressing my lips.

“Stop joking Korah”. She said skeptically.
“I'm serious..really”
She fully looked at me. “First of all,why were you there?”.

“Because that's where I work”.
Tatiana rolled her eyes. “Well..I don't care”.
I couldn't hold my laugh anymore. She's just too cute to ignore.

“Let's go eat lunch”. I said,pulling her hand.
“I'm not hungry...”
“You look like you are,Tatiana”. I judge,still pulling her hand.

Everyone seemed to be talking about Evan's birthday on Saturday on our way to the cafeteria.
“I'd hundred percent be at Evan's party”. I heard girls giggle.
“I think we should just go for Evan's birthday. He invited us after all”. Tatiana said.
“That's cool,you should go”. I supported, happy at her decision.

“What about you?”.
“I won't be able to. I have to go to work”.
Her face darkens. “Oh...then I won't go. I can't go without you”.

“Its okay...I don't even have anything good to wear either”.

“I'll solve that.. Pleaseeeee”. Her face like a cute puppy.
“I..I don't know..Let's see”. I said in a low voice.
“You don't have to go to work today right? You can come over to my place”. She suggested.

Happiness flushed my face. “Okay..”
Today would be the time going Tatiana's place in Silicon estate. I've always wanted to go so I'd glad I'm invited. I've lived in an orphanage home all my life,I think its time I start exploring other places.

We ate lunch and took our plates to the kitchen ourselves. Tatiana apparently learnt that from me.

We had free period whereby some people go through their notes while others talked about different things.
“Hey Korah”. Dawn greeted, her baby face cute as always. “Will you go for Evan's birthday party?”

Only God knows why she wants to know.

“Uh..I don't think so. I haven't decided”.

Perfect answer.

“Oh..Alright, thought we could go together”. She said.
I really do not understand Dawn.
“I'm sorry. I can't say”. I stood immediately, going out of class.
Tatiana rested her head in the desk,closing her eyes to sleep. Not to disturb,I decide to go to the library myself.

This is the third time going there and I still feel like its the first time. The well arranged books gives me thrills. At times,I would prefer to just walk  around and feel the scent of the books. You would literally find any textbook you want.

“Good afternoon”. I greeted the librarian who is seating at her desk.

She welcome me with a smile. “Are you looking for a particular book?”.

I shake my head. “No...just hanging around”.
She obviously loves her work. Entertaining everyone with equality and a smile.

I walked through the rolls down to the end,just staring at the arrangement technique. I'm not so interested in comics but the ones at Bingham are luring.

I stretched to grab one which is one the top shelf. Been 5'5 does no good in situations like this.
I tiptoed to at least touch it but its of no use. A hand came over my head to take the exact book I wanted.
