1950𝐬, 𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭

𝐏𝐎𝐕 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐂𝐡𝐞𝐫

I sit on the chair and I try to write something on a paper. I thought everytime if when I'm grown up to be famous. Maybe a singer or an actress. But suddenly I hear a screaming from my mother as she came in the house. I hear more steps than hers. I think its her new husband Gilbert LaPiere. My mum divorce from my father as I was 1 year old. The reason why...she never told me.

"We are not ready for that!! We are poor! Why do you not pay attention of that!!!"

Screams my mother to Gilbert. Gilbert say something too but I can't understand it. But I'm confused what she mean with that she is not ready for that and that Gilbert not pay attention for that. I look for a while to the direction from them but then I try to write something continue on the paper and I try to ignore it. After a while comes my mum in the same room and sits next to me and make a big sigh. First I ignore her. I never saw mum so angry and afraid too since my father is away from here. But then she stands up and look over my paper

"What are you doing Cherilyn?"

She asks me. I look at her and I stop to ignore her. I answer

"I try to write my autograph...later I want to be famous."

My mum sighs because she always talk with me about my wish but she says nothing about that. But she sits the opposite of me and turn my chair to hers.

"Listen..."

She begins.

"Uhm...soon are you not the only children here at home."

I look confused

"What do you mean?"

She sighs and lies her hand on mine

"You'll get a sibling...I'm pregnant.."

I swallow really deep and I don't know what this means for us now. The only thing I do is to nod. My mum stroke over my hair and says

"I'm sorry that we fight again...I think you heard that...but..sometimes we must fight about things..."

I don't like it how she say 'sometimes' but I'm still quiet. My mum stands up and walks then away.

9 month later, my sister is born and her name is Georganne LaPierre. I like her. And I love her and if I'm honest: I'm really proud to be a big sister. But it seems that Gilbert and mum will be divorced again...
