Journeying in Heaven

"So, just how do suggest we get up to your little angel world?" Kaileb questioned as he followed me down the street.

"Isn't that obvious? Fly." I said as I had stretched out my wings. It had been a while since I've flown, and the last time I did... It resulted in me waking up upside down in a tree...

"Yeah, because I totally have wings." Kaileb mumbled in sarcasm as he dangled a backpack over his shoulder.

I rolled my eyes, "Grab onto me. I'll carry you."

Kaileb crinkled his nose in distaste, "You want me to ride on your back... Thanks, but no thanks."

"Would you rather ride on mine?" Questioned Raphael with an impatient look.

Kaileb grumbled what I could only guess was a curse, and looped his arms around my neck with hesitation.

"Any tighter, and you'll suffocate me to death," I said with a slight gag.

"Shut up. It's not like I have a choice," Kaileb huffed before glancing over to Carmen, who was anxiously swaying from side to side.

"Be careful, alright...?" Carmen whispered as she bit into her cheek.

"We will," me and Kaileb said in unison.

Carmen nodded with a small smile, "Get Sophia back... And be careful... Don't talk to demons--"

"Yes, mother," I teased before forcing a grin. "We'll be back before you know it!" I grinned before taking off. When I did, Kaileb yelled and dug his hands into my neck.

"Don't you dare drop me, angel boy!" Hollered Kaileb in my ear.

I winced, "If you continue strangling me, I will!!!" I hollered back as I sped up into the sky. Kaileb's grip immediately loosened.

"How high do we go?" Kaileb asked, his eyes squeezed tightly shut.

"This is good enough," I said with a nod before extending my hand.

A bright light burst into the sky in front of me, cracks separating the sky into halves. Beams of white filtered out of the cracks, a sight that only magical creatures could withstand. If a human looked at the light, they would instantly go blind.

"Don't look at the light. It'll damage your eyes," I warned Kaileb as I sped on up ahead. Raphael already zipped on ahead into the gap in the sky.

"No shit!!!" I heard Kaileb growl as I followed on behind Raphael.

When I entered, I felt Kaileb shutter with a loud yelp of pain. Before I could react, Kaileb was plummeting off me and into the abyss of white.

"Shoot! I wasn't sure if it would affect him, but it did," Raphael hollered as he swooped down and snatched up the limp body of the unconscious Kaileb.

"What happened to him?" I questioned in confusion.

"The angelic power here is too much for him. He's still human, and he can't handle it," Raphael said as he landed on a patch of white cobblestone.

He laid Kaileb out, a frown creasing on his eyebrows. Kaileb panted, sweat dripping down his forehead as he groaned.

Raphael sighed, sliding a vile of blue liquid from his pocket, and dripping a few drops down Kaileb's throat. At first, nothing happened, but after a few minutes, Kaileb shot upright and gagged. His forehead was damp with sweat, and his spiky raven hair hung to his face.

"Burns," Kaileb gasped as he grabbed at his throat. "What... What did you give me?"

"Nothing much. Just a little kick of my wake up sauce." Raphael said with a wink before pressing his hand to Kaileb's forehead. "You're burning up."

Kaileb managed a huff before he shakily stood up. "I don't know what happened... When we passed through that light, I felt... I felt--"

"No need to explain. Your human side can't handle the angelic powers in this realm. If it wasn't for you demonic side, you wouldn't even be able to be in here," Raphael explained as he let Kaileb lean against him.

"Ha... So my demon side is useful for some things," Kaileb said as he cracked a smile, an obvious, forced, and painful smile. "We're in Heaven now, right? Where to now?"

"Well, we aren't officially in Heaven. We are only in the angel realm. Not until we pass the gates, will we be officially in Heaven." I said before frowning. "Your condition will probably get worse though... There is more angelic power in Heaven."

"Well, shit. I don't exactly have a choice, do I? I have to continue forward." Grumbled Kaileb before he stood upright, wiped a bit of sweat of his brow, and started walking. "Which way are we going?"

"Straight," Raphael said before quickly following behind Kaileb, his hand steadily holding Kaileb upright. "Its around an hour flying, two if we walk." Raphael sighed, "We can't fly though. In the sky, there is more angelic power. Walking would be better for you."

"I don't care... Either way, I'll still feel like shit." Kaileb said as he shrugged his shoulders.

I nodded as I walked on beside Kaileb. "You know the plan then, right?"

"Yeah, yeah. I'm a demon who had been slaughtering angels. You guys caught me, and you are taking me to the prison of the bad," Kaileb said, reciting what we have been told to learn by Raphael.

The only way way to get into the demon realm, is going through the portal which is located in a prison in Heaven. The only way we would have access to the prison, is if we had a prisoner, which, in our case, is Kaileb.

"I hope this goes well..." I mumbled under my breath.

"Don't we all?" Grumbled Kaileb. "Don't we all."
