Chapter 10

Marley's POV
I woke up with an arm around me. I forgot that I slept in here last night. "Becca can I get up?" I asked. She groaned and turned around. I got up and walked out. "Good morning!" Emma said pacing the floor. "Are you ok? Where's Hailey?" I asked. "She's asleep" she said. "Why are you pacing?" I asked. "I'm waiting to get an email. The email that tells me if I passed or not" she said. "Babe you caught Walter and you brought in a MESA agent" I said. "But that doesn't matter! The test goes off my performance and I could fail!" She said. "Honey you'll be fine" I said. "Stop saying that its fine! Nothings fine!" She shrieked. I walked up to her and held her close to me. "Calm down. Freaking out wont help you" I said. She groaned and leaned into my chest. Its way too early for this.

Emma's POV
Its 3:30PM. "Why haven't they sent me anything!" I whined. "I'm sure they'll send you something soon" Hailey said. "You said that two hours ago" I groaned. Just then there's a knock on the door. Becca opened it and Sargent came in. "Good evening girls. Emma I need to speak to you" she said. I gulped and walked outside with her. Once we were out the door she spoke. "You passed Emma" she said. I breathed out in relief. "And you should start packing for your new corridors" she said. "Wait what?" I asked. "Well, that was your final exam and you passed, so you're moving up to Sector 3" she said. My eyes widened. "I'm a 3?" I asked. She nodded. I smiled. "Go pack and I'll be back to escort you tomorrow" she said. I nodded and walked inside.

I walked inside and was greeted with the girls. "What did she say?!" They yelled. "I passed! And I'm a 3 now!" I said. Their smiles faded. "What?" Hailey asked. "I got promoted to a 3" I said. "But that means you're leaving us" Becca said. My smile faded. I hadn't thought about it. "Oh" I said. "Hey its ok, we're still together and I'm sure we'll be 3's soon" Marley said. "Yeah" I said sadly and walked into my room.

Becca's POV
"So are we getting a new roommate?" I asked. Hailey shrugged. "Ok I just called Sargent. She says that since the four of us are a group that our final exams are next but until then we'll be separated one by one. So we'll be together again soon" Marley said walking in. "Great" I said sarcastically. "So whos next?" Hailey asked. "Becca is" Marley said. I looked over shocked. "Shit" I sighed.

Emma's POV
I finished packing. Its the next day. Sargent is here to get me. I walked out of my room. "Bye, I'll see you soon" I said. I hugged Hailey, then Marley, and then Becca. They all kissed my cheek. "Bye" they said. "I love you" I said. "We love you too" they said.

We walked to the rovers and Sargent drove me to sector 3. I'm still scared of the rovers. It made me think of Becca. We got to sector 3 and Sargent brought me to my corridor. "Ok so these are the current residents here, they're all doing their final exams so they'll be gone soon. Be nice to Emma girls" Sargent said and left. "Hi! I'm Sarah" one of the girls said. She's a short brunette. "I'm Skylar" another girl said. She's tall and blonde. "I'm Ray" the other girl said. She's really tall and has black hair. "Hi, I'm Emma. Nice to meet you" I said. They nodded and went back to what they were doing. I walked to my room and started to unpack. I already hate it here.

Two days. Its been two days and I hate it here. I got dressed, brushed my hair, put it up, and then walked out of my room. "Sup ponytail" Ray said. I ignored her. They like to call me that. Ray and Skylar are mean. Sarah isn't as bad, she just goes along with whatever Skylar says. I got new clothes the other day. Now they all have a badge that says 3. "Come on! We're going to the grub hall for breakfast" Sarah said. The grub hall is connected to sectors 1, 2, and 3 so there are tons of girls that eat in there.

We got there and sat down. After about ten minutes of not paying attention I heard laughter behind me. I turned to see my girls. I smiled. They hadn't seen me but its good to see them. I haven't talked to them yet. "Hey ponytail! Listen" Ray said. I turned to her. "Since you're new, you have to uphold the tradition" Ray said. "What tradition?" I asked. "Every new 3 has to egg the old 2s" Skylar said. I went pale. Skylar handed me an egg. "Go on" she said. I stood up and made my way across the room. How did I not know about this? They didn't do this to me? Maybe that's because I'm usually never in the grub hall. I walked up to the girls. Marley and Becca stared at me. They knew. Hailey turned around to face me. She stood up. She looked disappointed. "Are you really gonna give in to that?" She asked. "I don't know what to do" I said. "Stand up against them" she said. My eyes started to water. "I cant. They're mean" I said. Becca stood up and walked over to me. "Give it" she said. I held out my hand. She took my hand and smashed the egg against her shirt. She made it look like I did it. "You can try to be popular but it wont get you anywhere" she warned. They all left. I stood there dumbfounded. I walked back to my table and sat down. "Nice job ponytail" Ray said. I faked a smile.

Its midnight. I snuck out and got into one of the rovers. I hate these things but I have to. I drove to sector 2. I knocked on the door of my old corridor. I knew they'd be awake because its Friday and they don't sleep on Fridays. Marley opened the door. "Emma what are you doing here?" She asked confused. "I'm so sorry" I cried. She pulled me inside and we walked to the the couch. "I'm really sorry. I didn't know what to do. They're so mean to me but I didn't wanna do that to you and I-" Hailey cut me off. "Its ok Emma. Calm down" she said. I sat down next to Becca. "Why did you do that?" I asked. "I know how it feels to not fit in with a new crowd. You have to fight to fit in. I didn't want you to lose that fight" she said. I hugged her. "Thank you" I said. "Of course babe" she said. Hailey and Marley scooted over and sat next to us. "How did you get here?" Hailey asked. "I stole a rover" I said. Becca chuckled. "That's my girl" she kissed my head.
