Kate woke up the next morning and saw Bucky was still asleep. Leaving him in bed she went to the bathroom, noticing he had rinsed her slip and panties. They were still damp but she appreciated the thought and effort. Her hair was a mess so she pulled the shower curtain around the tub and had a quick shower. Drying her hair and herself after she put her clothes on; ladies trousers, a blouse and a sweater. Then she combed out her hair and loosely braided it.
Seeking out Ana she found her with a very hungry baby so she sat in a nearby armchair and proceeded to feed John. He had slept well but had been awake about 30 minutes. They chatted about things then Ana finally asked how the wedding night went.
"Well, pretty good, except Bucky's cast got wet," she said. "It slipped into the bathtub, then fell off. His ankle feels better but maybe he should get a new cast."
"There usually isn't a doctor around in the winter. Nearest one is an hour away," replied Ana.
Kate finished feeding John and took him back to her bedroom to see Bucky. Just as she got there the circular portal formed and Dr. Strange peeked out.

"Good, you're dressed," he said. "I've come to check on you."
Kate opened the door to the room but Bucky wasn't in the bed. Stepping in further she could hear the shower going, so she waved Dr. Strange in and told Bucky they had a visitor.
"If you could lie on the bed please," said Dr. Strange to Kate.
"Right, mystical MRI," she replied, remembering having one done at the Avengers compound when all the technology in the centre was under a cyber attack.
She sat John beside her and laid back as Dr. Strange began the process. He waved his hands and brought up the circular discs of light then hovered his hands over her body as he read the symbols that appeared on the discs. He had just completed it when Bucky came in wearing just a towel and Strange asked him to lie on the bed. The look Bucky gave him was not exactly friendly.
"No," he said emphatically.
"Bucky, it's ok," said Kate. "He is a medical doctor but he can do a full exam using magic. It won't hurt. He just performed one on me."
Bucky laid down but watched carefully as Dr. Strange examined him. A few minutes later he finished then looked at John and said he might as well examine him. That took a couple of minutes. Then he sat in the armchair and faced them both.
"Kate, your tuberculosis is cured," he began. "You're at your most fertile right now and might already be pregnant but it's too soon for me to know for sure. Your transition is well underway. I'm guessing you've already noticed a few changes. Bucky, your transition is also well underway. I notice the cast is gone. Is there a reason for that?"
"My foot slipped as I was ... bathing, and it went in the water," he replied. "I'm supposed to report for desk duty Monday so I need to get a new cast or else be prepared to explain how I lost this one."
