Mirror of Traps

Chapter 2

"Jisoo!" Lisa got up from the bed to open the door for the older girl when she heard the soft knocks.

"How did it..."

Jisoo passed Lisa, dragging her feet to sit on the ledge. She saw the same heartbreaking expression she had seen from the day they met on Jisoo's face again.

"...go?"

Lisa quickly sat down right beside her and dropped her hand into Jisoo's. She waited for Jisoo to collect her thoughts and speak to her.

"I'm just a replacement for my brother again." Jisoo's voice quivered.

"No matter how far I go or how hard I try, I just end up in his shadows again." Jisoo dropped her head onto Lisa's shoulder.

"What happened? What did they say?" Lisa was getting worried.

"I'm getting engaged."

"WHAT?!" Lisa stood up, making Jisoo fall to her side.

"I'm getting engaged." Jisoo told her again. "As my brother."

"I think I'm losing my hearing." Lisa felt her ear. "Or is it my brain that couldn't comprehend that?"

Jisoo stood up, pulling Lisa to sit on her spot.

"I'm getting engaged in place of my brother until he comes back." She told her slowly.

"I think you've lost it." Lisa replied.

"I'll get them to send you back tomorrow. I'll come back as soon as possible." Jisoo gave her a depressing smile "If I can."

Lisa grabbed the pillow beside her and aimed right at Jisoo's head.

"Ouch. What was that for?" Jisoo asked, rubbing her face.

"For your very detailed explanation." Lisa snubbed.

Jisoo rolled her eyes, dropping herself onto the bed. Lisa crawled up beside her.

"I've always lived in my brother's shadows. I can't remember a single day that my parents ever chose me over him or a single day he treated me like his sister."

"So, I did my best to impress my parents but even my best didn't compare to Jin's least." Jisoo chuckled. "Sometimes, I would think I'm adopted."

"I would've left too." Lisa frowned.

"I wish that was the only reason I left."

Jisoo wanted to scream. She wanted to smash the screen as soon as she saw Jin show up to present her project.

Working day and night on the company's biggest point till date just to have it all stolen right from under her palm.

The day she was supposed to finally be introduced as the project manager and presented to the public, she was watching Jin take her place up on the stage.

Not understanding anything, she ran back to the office and scattered all her work. Searching her brain for any way that it could've been stolen. There was no way it could all just magically transfer into Jin's hands.

Calling security, she immediately ran down to the control room to check the footage. They ended up sitting through hours of footage until they finally saw who was able to enter her office without her presence.

Her breath hitched when she found her own father walking into her office to look through files. He searched through everything she had and stole all the files related to what he would need. It all made sense as to how it was so easily taken from her.
