Chapter 19

"Who the fuck is ringing it at this time?!"

"I'll get it." Jisoo volunteered.

"What if it's a robber?"

"Tae, there's like 3 layers of security you need pass to reach the front door."

"Right." He grabbed the rolled up paper from Chaeyoung and passed it to her. "Safety measures."

Dashing down the stairs, Jisoo hesitated before opening the door.

"Hi." Her eyes met the troubled expression on Jennie's face.

"Jen?" Jisoo moved out of the way to let her in. "What are you doing here at this time?"

"I was just- Well, I was worried about you leaving in the middle of the night and I…" the words remained stuck in Jennie's mouth.

"You…"

"I thought you might've regretted the kiss."

"Regret?" Jisoo pointed to herself in surprise. "Me?"

"You haven't contacted me in a day. I know you're busy and all but I couldn't help but overthink that you might've.."

"Regret a kiss that I initiated?"

"I know but-"

"I would do it again in an instant." Jisoo's words stumped Jennie.

"Is that so?" She asked back with a sultry tone evident in her voice. The once worried face showed a much more relaxed attitude.

"Do you need me to prove it to you?" Jisoo leaned in, a leisurely smirk on her face.

"Hey, Ji-'' Lisa was running down the stairs chased by a wet Seulgi.

"Jennie?" She slowed down, making Seulgi bump her face into her back.

"That hurts, Manoban." Jennie stared at the new girl who stood between them, rubbing her nose.

"And this is…"

"Seulgi! Lisa's friend!"

"Yes! My friend that was staying over." Lisa aggressively nodded.

"Oh, hello." Jennie held her hand out for a stunned Seulgi to take. "I'm Jennie Kim, Jin's fiancé."

"N-Nice to m-meet you, J-J-J-"

"Seul must be cold from the water she accidentally dropped on herself." Lisa covered up, pulling Seulgi's shivering hand out of Jennie's hold. "Maybe we could postpone this meeting until she's dry."

"Maybe, but before that I would like to know why you're up at such late hours. Did you forget the plan for tomorrow?

As far as Jisoo remembered, she hadn't made any plans with Jennie.

"Anything other than you slips my mind easily." She flattered, hoping Jennie would give in

The latter sighed before chuckling. "We will be booking the venue together with our parents. Now answer my question."

"He has dementia." Seulgi stepped on Lisa's  foot to shut her up.

"Amnesia?" The Thai tried again, hoping it was the right word. Jisoo was quick to stomp on her foot silently.

"Insomnia!" Her feet stayed safe. "It's insomnia. Jin has insomnia."

"You know how work goes," It was suffocating to lie to Jennie. Especially when she pulled such a frowny face. "I was hoping I could call you before bed though. Just wanted to hear your voice."

"Well, you can hear it better now since I also plan to stay over tonight."

"You do?!" Jisoo's voice squeaked uncharacteristically.
