A/N: I was actually able to write this chapter quickly lol.
"What are you doing here?" Kaneisyeon asked after opening the door.
"Can I see-"
"No. If I remember correctly, you betrayed him by spreading a rumor. Now our mom doesn't like him anymore because she believes you more."
Beomgyu sighed and looked down. "I came to apologize."
"Then you came to the wrong place. He moved away two months ago."
Beomgyu's eyes widened and he followed her inside. "Where did he go?"
She went to the kitchen to get her food out of the microwave and shrugged. "I don't know why I should tell you. He moved back here to get away from you. And you still haunted him even after he left. Now he's alone, and he's happy. He's never been happy being alone. You really screwed him up."
"Yeah, I did. So can I apologize for doing that?"
"You can in August. He said he wants half a year alone." Beomgyu's lips quivered and he looked down. "Come back to me in August. Then I'll tell you where he is."
*Four months later*
Beomgyu looked at the café, holding the paper tightly in his shaky hand. This is where Taehyun worked now, apparently. He was nervous.
He did try to fix himself over the past four months though. Something about needing to form the right apology for someone he fucked up seemed to make him more empathetic.
It was a cute little café. Kaneisyeon told him she just gave Taehyun the money to open it himself and he hired employees and did everything on his own. She said it's really been helping him be happier.
So she was very hesitant to tell Beomgyu of all people.
But maybe, hopefully, this would give Taehyun some sort of closure on the entire situation.
It was also cute on the inside. It was a cream, brown, and sky blue aesthetic, which was the definition of Taehyun's entire personality. There were a decent amount of people in here. Not too busy, but the different employees were still walking around to serve people.
"Hey, is Taehyun working today?" He asked the girl at the counter.
She nodded and pointed at someone who was walking around taking orders.
That wasn't Taehyun.
He had brown hair and looked less buff than Taehyun- wait.
It was him...
"Excuse me," he said, walking over.
"I'm sorry I'm talking to someone else-" he stopped when he turned and saw who he was talking to.
Taehyun was still wearing his glasses, but his eyes looked healthier than they had been in a very long time. He had one airpod in, he had no eye bags, and he looked way healthier and happier.
"I was hoping we could talk."
Taehyun looked down at his watch and nodded. "I go on break in twenty-two minutes."
Well that was easy.
Beomgyu went to go sit down and watch Taehyun work for the rest of the time. His mood seemed to change when he realized Beomgyu was here and it made the older sad.
Deserved.
"What do you want?" He asked, sitting across from him in the booth when twenty-two minutes passed.
"I came here to apologize."
Taehyun's unamused expression didn't change at all. Did Beomgyu think he was honestly that stupid?
"I didn't think it would take you this long after you gave everyone else half-assed apologies."
"Your sister didn't tell me where you were until six months had passed since you moved- wait. How did you know I apologized to everyone else?"
"They tweeted a lot about it back then. I was waiting for you to come to me, but I just assumed you refused. And here you are. I know you're just doing it because you were forced to though-"
"No."
Taehyun's eyes widened. "No?"
"Back then, yes. But I've thought about it a lot over the past four months. I truly am sorry."
"For what?"
"Ruining your life."
Taehyun snickered and crossed his arms. "That's a big thing to apologize for. Is that all you have to say in your "real" apology?"
He was hurting Beomgyu's feelings, but he just kept telling himself he deserved it. "Can we talk about this somewhere else?"
Taehyun thought for a moment and nodded before standing up to tell the staff he was taking a longer break.
