At first you are confused but then you notice how nervous and how hard he is trying his best, but you couldn't help yourself not to laugh at his last sentences. "Ppfftt... Hahahaha.. Thank you, I guess?", still it's hard for you to stifle your laughs. Took you a few minutes to finally calm down while he is standing there with a red face. "Shut it you.." He grumbles as he looks away. Seems you already got used to him as you know he isn't upset or anything even though he sounds like that. Starting to feel annoyed as he still heard you giggled, he grabbed hold of your hand. That sure shut your mouth. Hold his hand back, your fingers and his intertwined with each other. "Don't let go and stay close.. It's crowded here, it will be a pain in the ass if you get lost", he pulled you closer to him. That sure made your heart skip a beat and made your cheeks turned as red as it could. "Then~ You better not let my hand go too..", you gave him a teasing smile as you cling to his arm. He might have that scary expression on his face but you could see his ears as red as tomatoes, making you chuckle 'how cute..'. You did notice he wears his uniform instead of casual clothes and you already know after this festival ends, he will probably be back with his gang. You actually hate it but you know your place, you didn't have the right to tell him what it's better for him. You try your best to push those thoughts away, trying to enjoy the night with him but deep inside, you somehow feel in your gut that tonight will be not as happy as you might hope for.

Being with him made you forget all those negative feelings. All your worries always end up washed away when you are with him. Sharing the apple candy, eating here and there. You two even bought matching cat masks. "You really like it?" He handed you a ramune to drink. You've been smiling and staring at the bracelet he had won from one of the shooting stands. It might be just a cheap normal flowery bracelet but it's from him and that is what it matters for you. "Mhm.. It's really pretty.. I love it.. I will treasure this.. Ah thank you, Baji-san" you gave him the brightest smile as you took the ramune and drank it. Hearing how much you like it, a small happy smile could be seen on his face. He take hold of your free hand, "Let's find some spot to sit and watch the fireworks..". Letting him lead the way, you sit side by side with him waiting for the fireworks to start. Usually the two of you will talk or throw jokes to each other, but sitting there around many couples sure made you two feeling awkward. You know you like him and he knows he likes you, but none of you ever bring that up. Minutes pass, and you try to make a small talk "Um what are you gonna do after this, baji-san?". "Hm? Chifuyu and the others said they want to talk about something. You want to come along?", you shook your head "Thanks but I think I will be too tired for that- Ouch?!". Suddenly you felt like something went inside your right eye. "What's wrong? You okay?" he looked at you worried. "Stay still.." he quickly leaned closer to your face, helping it by gently blowing it. The time you saw how close his face was to yours, you felt like you stopped breathing for a second. "How is it?" he asked, still in a worried tone. That sure made your heart flutter, "I-it's alright now..". Your eyes met his, but yours quickly looked away. Too shy to stare right to his eyes. Noticing that and how you haven't pushed him away or pulled away from him, he made his move. Your eyes widened when you felt his lips pressing over yours. For you it felt like time just stopped. He pulled away after a while, he looked at your red face "Hey, l/n.. You know.. Actually I-". His phone rang.
