"Come on, Nate! Don't you feel like something's off about this whole thing?" I was sitting with Nate at a restaurant named Blue Collar, it wasn't crowded, which was a good thing.

"The two of them should've known better than to sleep with each other, she's Ryan's sister and he's Ryan's best friend, Sky!" Nate argued, taking a sip of his mimosa.

"That's not the point right now," I said. "Leon told Riley she was just a rebound, doesn't that tick you off at all?" I crossed my arms over my chest.

"Riley's like a sister to me, of course it ticks me off," he responded. "I just don't want to bring them back together and ruin Ryan's relationship with them."

Nate may seem like he's the goofy carefree friend, but when it comes to situations like this he's always the over-thinker.

"Didn't Ryan go off and date Lilly?" I said, raising my brows at him. Nate retreated, finally seeing my point. "Remind me, how did Riley react? Did she freak out and scream at them? Did she break someone's arm over it? No! She completely accepted it because she wants her brother and best friend to be happy!"

Nate sighed, looking at the roof as if it's the most interesting thing in the world.

"Was she mad at us when we kept leaving her out of everything because we wanted some alone time? No, she didn't!" I added.

When we were in Hawaii, Lilly and I were always leaving Riley all alone to hang out with Ryan and Nate, she wasn't mad at us, she still wanted us to be happy.

"Fine fine!" Nate said. "We'll talk to Leon and fix things between them."

I smiled widely. "I knew you cared about Riley," I said, taking a bite out of my omelette.

"Of course I do, Sky," he said seriously. "I've known Riley since she was in 6th grade, I'll always care for her."

I smiled softly. Sometimes I forget that Nate is practically Riley's second brother, he met her way before Lilly and I did.

I'm so thankful that she's always had a backbone along with Ryan, God knows I wish I had something like that.

"And I'm glad you do," I said, holding his hand gently.

Nate smiled, squeezing my hand lightly. "And you better know that I'll always care for you as well, you mean the world to me, Sky Davis."

I smiled widely, ignoring the heat I felt in my cheeks. "You mean the world to me too, Nate Jacobsen."
