"And that's how I won the jackpot," Nate was saying. He went to some arcade place with Ryan yesterday, they haven't shut up about it since.

I wasn't paying attention anymore, my thoughts were centered around Leon and what he might be doing.

I really hope he stayed on the boat.

"Remember the look on that guy's face?" Ryan said humorously. "Straight out of a comic book."

Nate laughed and fist-bumped him. "Let's watch something on Netflix," Nate said and grabbed the TV remote. "What do you wanna watch, Riles?" he looked at me, waiting for an answer.

"I don't know, anything," I waved him off.

"He's fine, Riles," Lilly spoke up for the first time. "Don't worry, babe."

I nodded, still worried nonetheless. "I just want him to let me know he's back on the shore safely and I'll be okay," I said, looking at my watch. "He said they'll be back on land at 5:30, and it's already 6:30."

"Leon's always late for everything, nothing to worry about," Ryan said comfortingly. "I'm sure if something happened we'll be aware by now."

They all nodded in agreement and I sighed, still unable to shake off the weird feeling I have.

Nate turned on the TV, a local news channel immediately playing. He was about to click on Netflix when Sky shot up. "Wait, what the hell?" she asked. "Turn off the app menu!" she motioned to Nate.

Nate turned it off. "What?"

"Read the breaking news."

Tiger Shark attack in Oahu: one dead, one injured, and three safe. Five males with the names Jonah Carlson, Ben Sharpe, Hiram Māhoe, Lucas Mahiʻai, and Leon Adamos were attacked by a Tiger shark about one hundred yards away from the shore.

My blood ran cold.

They got attacked. One of them died.

We all immediately got up, wordlessly running out the front door. "You three, go to the hospital, we'll go to the beach and see what we can find out," Ryan said.

We nodded, immediately heading to the hospital.

There's a 1 in 5 chance Leon's dead, a 1 in 5 chance of him being injured, and a 3 in 5 chance of him being ok.

If something happened to Leon, I will never forgive myself. Ever.
