"DO YOU CARE TO EXPLAIN?" Madam Hooch roared. Marium should've felt ashamed, but all she could think about was the fact that the teacher's words didn't seem to be directed to her. She thought that she should've been told off as well. The children stood in an empty classroom that felt colder than the witch's tone.

"It was all his fault!" Draco stupidly pointed at Ron who placed his hands up in surrender. Marium felt amused at the fact that he didn't deny it.

"Is this true, Mr Weasley?" Madam Hooch barked.

"Well, I-i w-well..." The pathetic redhead whimpered. Marium and Draco both tried not to giggle. What an idiot!

"Hmm. 20 points from Gryffindor and Slytherin." Madam Hooch sternly said. What?

"Sorry, Madam, what do you from Slytherin?" Marium tried not to sound irritated.

"Well, of course, your brother did take part in it, and so did you!"

"But why are you taking points from Slytherin because of Marium?!" Draco frustratedly asked, "She only tried to stop it!"

"Well, she did make it worse. Did you even see the people throwing balls? It was clearly her fault!" Ronald scoffed.

"Mr Weasley is correct." Madam Hooch assured. Draco gaped and Marium tried not to angrily scoff. What an idiot. She shared a look with her brother and they both mentally said to each other, 'they're just prejudiced.' Marium felt angrier than a bull.

"Well, hurry along, continue with the rest of your day." Madam Hooch hurried, pushing away the children. However, Marium didn't want to leave. She stood with her head tilted up at the professor; sterner than a box. At the moment, Madam Hooch stared, aghast giving Marium the happy satisfaction of younger empowerment.

"Well. I guess I did need to talk with you." Madam Hooch reluctantly said, returning to a desk. While rummaging through quills and parchment of information, she clicked her fingers taking one out. It read, 'Slytherin Quidditch Team.'

But before Marium could reach in to read the rest, there was a violent thump and knock, with a cough of frustration. Marium turned to be faced with the familiar know-it-all brunette, Hermione Granger. Merlin, can she just leave!

"Right, yes, I'll be with you in a moment Miss Granger." Madam Hooch hurriedly stuttered. Hermione gave a slight but assuring nod and pranced away.

Seriously! This Muggle-born thinks she's everything! Why did I even agree to be her friend?

"So, Marium." Madam Hooch grinned. Ew. "I saw your skills with the balls, and I thought about this." No, you didn't. "I think you'd make an excellent chaser for the Slytherin team. WHAT?! NO, I WILL DEFINITELY NOT.

"No, I think I'll- past. Pass! Not past, haha." Marium stuttered, trying not to sound rude. I will not be participating in my brother's favourite sport. I will not win him that satisfactory glory from ME!

"Oh, come on. You can't be serious." Madam Hooch chuckled. Marium let out an internal sigh. I hate this.

"Woah! So you. And I mean, you. Are going to be the chaser for the Slytherin team?!" Daphne giggled excitedly.

"Pretty much." Marium sighed. She had hesitantly given in to Madam Hooch, not wanting to sound rude. But now seeing all the trouble that laid on a straightforward path ahead of her, she regretted even helping the boys get out of the fight. She internally blamed this on Granger. That stupid mudblood!

"Wow! I think you should thank Granger. After all, without her telling you to help the boys out, you wouldn't have gotten this spot! It's amazing!" Daphne let out a full-beam with awe.

Marium tightened the strap of her book bag as they walked through the courtyard. Well, Daphne practically skipped with more enjoyment than the sight of a baby penguin. More enthusiasm than Marium.

"Don't get your hopes up, that was my first time ever riding a freaking broom! Imagine how I'll do at Quidditch?" Marium sighed.

"You'll do amazing!"

"No! The exact opposite!" But, Daphne still skipped with joy.

But now, as the pair walked to their charms class, Marium's mind kept wandering back to the letter. Not her father's letter, but the mysterious one. Could it really be a secret admirer? Or could someone be out to get her or was it just someone messing with her? Marium couldn't place her finger on it. But her instincts kept telling her that Madam Hooch's sudden offer was related to it. Somehow. Just somehow.
