"HEY! MALFOY! WAIT UP!" A voice called out from behind. Marium wasn't in the mood to talk with anyone. She never was, it was a waste of time. She reluctantly turned to face an old friend. Cho Chang. Marium's face instantly lit up and she ran to hug her friend.

"Cho! Oh! Hi!" Marium beamed, cheerfully.

"Hey! I wanted to congratulate you!" Cho grinned. What?

"On what?" Marium seriously didn't know what she was talking about.

"Making the Slytherin Quidditch team! You must be so good." Oh. Over the past few days, while Marium had her head wrapped in the books, she never realised all the outbursts of rumours and spread information. Faster than a hare.

"Oh. Haha, thanks." Marium nervously chuckled, still staring at Cho, dead-eyed. She loved praise. Especially when many give it. But Marium didn't actually know how she was able to become a chaser. And why was everyone throwing balls? That was stupid! There had to be some sort of scheme her father set up. Also, during the days of studying, Marium hadn't spoken to her classmates that often. Only Draco The Great Hall, but then she'd read the daily prophet. Sometimes Daphne when they were forced to be seated with one another, and also before bed they'd share goodnight. That was all.

"Y'know, I'm trying out for seeker this year. I mean, I'm a second year." Cho began walking beside Marium as people perplexedly stared. It was probably because, a Chang and a Malfoy? Unlikely. "I was hoping if you could give me some tips! Like, how would you team up with a seeker and all? By the way, just so you don't freak out or anything, I've been asking loads of people." Cho practical skipped beside Marium with eagerness.

"Wait. Loads of people?" Marium asked.

"Wait, I'm sorry. Did that hurt your feelings?" Cho stopped moving.

"Nah, only joking." Marium smiled. She wasn't.

"Oh, because for a second you sounded jealous, and, believe me, I do not want you to be jealous." Cho nervously rubbed the back of her neck.

Marium was familiar with Quidditch, only because her brother was obsessed with the Irish team. She explained the chaser's relationship with the seeker and all the other roles emplaced in different scenarios.

But they both paused when they heard an insolent and dry voice call out from behind them.

"Hey! Malfoy!" The girls turned to face a stuck-up Ronald Weasley walking with a gang of Gryffindors, coming up from the end of the hallway towards them. "Heard you made the Quidditch Team!" The red-haired laughed with his friends.
