"WE WON!" Flash exclaims once we make our way to the Washington Monument. "I told you we didn't need Peter."

As per usual, Peter skipped out on the Decathlon, which didn't make much sense to me since he was the one who got on the bus in the first place. I wasn't at all surprised when Mr Harrington said he was missing.

"Flash pipe down, you didn't answer a single question." I roll my eyes.

While the rest of the group starts to head up inside the building, I notice MJ standing outside of it with a book in her hands.

"Taking it all in Michelle?" Mr Harrington asks.

"Oh, I don't really want to celebrate something that was built by slaves." She answers.

"I'm sure the Washington Monument wasn't built by..." Mr Harrington looks at me for help but I wince, letting him know that it really was.

"...Okay." He swallows. "Enjoy your book."

"Thanks."

"Let's go, Jordyn." Mr Harrington ushers me inside of the building as well and I take off my Midtown High blazer, tying it around my waist. When I put my bags down on the security system before we enter, I notice Ned hissing into his phone.

My anger takes over me and I take the phone out of Ned's hands. "Peter, is that you?"

"Oh shit." Peter mumbles. "Hey, Jordyn! Could you please put Ned back on the phone?"

"Not just yet, you fucking flake." I put a hand on my hip. "Your ass is so lucky we won. You know, I wanna be mad but I'm more worried. What is going on with you?"

"Baby, I'm sorry." Peter says and it sounds like he's running. "I'll explain later but could you please just put Ned back on the phone?"

By this time, Ned's already on the other side of the security and I'm on my way to give it to him but a worker stops me.

"All items on the belt, miss."

Without a goodbye, I end the call and put Ned's phone on the belt, walking through security and making my way over to Ned.

"What was the real reason Peter didn't come today?" I ask him and Ned gulps.

"W-what do you mean?"

"I don't buy the story you told this morning. Where is he really?"

"I told you. He wondered off and got lost."

"Why the hell would he be wondering around at night?"

"Because..." I see beads of sweat forming on Ned's forehead. "I don't know, I'm not Peter. Ask him when he gets back."

"Mr Harrington, can I be the one who tells Peter he's expelled?" Flash snickers and my jaw clenches.

I walk into the elevator with the rest of the group and the tour lady goes in with us, explaining some facts about the building.
