That man in Beskar [The Mandalorian x OC]

IX. The enemy

I fly up to the sky, with the Tie fighter behind me, luckily it isn't shooting anymore.

BB-4 beeps
"It's contacting us?... Yeah... put it through, buddy"
After a short buzz I hear the voice of the pilot of the ship.
"Tie to Spark"
"Uhm, hi. Would you mind stop hunting me? It's pretty rude"
"I don't care about you. I want the Mandalorian and the Child".
"I seem to be out of Mandalorians right now, maybe another day?"

"Liar. I saw him enter your ship, and the child too"
"Oh" I get ready with my hand on the brake lever "Well in that case..."
With a quick pull I stop the ship engines, making the craft drop.
I hope this works.

After a second I turn the Spark on again and rotate it to the opposite direction, then engage full speed.
But the pilot following us is ready and is quickly on our tail again, this time shooting blasts too.

"Buckle up, crew!" I yell before turning the steering wheel making the ship spin to avoid getting shot.
"BB GET THE WEAPON READY"

In the tail of the craft the contrls of the ship's blaster appear.
"Mando, do something useful, get there and shoot! You should be good at it"
He secures the kid in the seat and does what I said.

I don't fly straight, I don't want to be an easy target, but that also means it will be harder to aim at our adversary.

"Who in the stars are you?" I say hoping the communications are still operating

"Someone who never loses"

Oh, honey. Clearly you've never met me.

"Kaira, do a full spin. We need to get behind him" the Mandalorian speaks.
Yes, it could work.
OK, let's do this.
I put all my strength in pulling the steering wheel to make the ship do a backflip. Quick enough to have a few seconds of advantage, but controlled enough not to make us hit the Tie fighter.
"Go, Mando!"
He shoots a few blasts as the other ship tries to get away, and he hits the left wing.
The Tie fighter loses balance and goes straight towards an asteroid, making both explode.

"BB,  lightspeed!"
The ship jumps in hyperspace, and as I see the familiar light blue-ish white surroundings I relax.
The Mandalorian comes back as the controls disappear in the walls.
I turn to the kid.
He doesn't seem fine.
"Oh no, not again"
I quickly open a cabinet and pick up a bag for him, which he takes to throw up.
"I'm sorry piccolo, I had to"

The Mandalorian put his hand on Grogu's hand looking at the bag he had.
"Smart huh? Had to learn it the hard way" I say "You too?"
"Once"
I laugh.

BB-4 beeps again
"Destination? Wait a sec" I turn to the man in the back seat "Do you have friends somewhere?"
He nods, still looking at Grogu.
"Great, tell the Droid the location"
He hesitates
"What, you don't like him? He's good I swear"
He sighs
"Droid, bring us to Sorgan"
"Please" I add

BB-4 beeps something, making me laugh.
"What did it say?" the Mandalorian asked irritated
"Oh, nothing. We can rest for a bit until we get out of hyperspace. He might have added something like - I guess on Mandalor they don't teach manners-"
The man looks away in silence
"So uncivilized" I say to my Droid best-friend, winking at him

After a while it's time to reach Sorgan.
As I approach the planet I think about Grogu's memories about this place. I'm happy to see it with my own eyes.

I let the Mandalorian guide me to a land to park the ship. Then we get into a cantina close to it.
The Mandalorian walks in, and everybody looks at him. Typical.
The bartender seems to recognize him

"Hey, I remember you! Mandalorian! What can I get you"
"Soup for the little one, and do you know how can we reach the village of krills?"
"You're lucky, there is a transport vehicle going there. It leaves in five. You can still make it"
"Thank you" he takes the soup and heads out.
I take the kid and follow him.

We manage to reach the speeder, and for a few credits the owner let us on. We leave slowly towards the village, the kid eating his soup.

I somehow fell asleep, because I open my eyes, finding my self near a bunch of small houses and singing children.
One girl points at us and calls her friends, as they get closer I discovered they were focused on the child.
I protectively put an arm close to Grogu, only to be stopped by the Mandalorian
"Let them, they are friends"
The girl waves at him
"Hello! Can I?"
"Sure"
She picks up the kid, who seems happy
"Hug" he says, surprising the kids, who hug him all together chanting 'He speaks! He speaks!'

A woman exits a house, to see what's going on. Her face relaxes and she smiles seeing my padawan and his father figure.
"Mando"
"Omera" and then pointing at me "This is Kaira"
She seems kind of disappointed before smiling again and greeting me. Does she like the Mandalorian? And does she think I'm with him?

"What brings you here?"
"We're still having problems with people hunting us. We needed a safe place to stay"
"Absolutely, let me show you where you can rest"

I thank her with a nod, then whistle to call my Droid, that is still on the speeder. He comes behind me as the kid does with the Mandalorian.

We arrive in a barn
"We still have the crib if you need it"
"This time we don't need it"
"All right. I'll leave you to put you stuff down"

I let Grogu go with his friends, guarded by BB-4.

I look around, curious.
"Take the bed. I'll stay there. It's your turn"
I already know there are no buts, so I nod, accepting the offer.
As I sit on a chair my comlink beeps.
I press the button and a voice speaks

"You survived round one"
"Oh, lord. You again? Didn't you explode?"
"Did you really think I would come fight a Jedi and a Mandalorian just by myself? That was an autopilot ship"
"Oh, so you're a chicken. Okay, understood"
"I'm not a chicken!"
"Then who are you?!" the Mandalorian steps in
"Just someone who wants revenge against Din Djarin"

The voice stops, the communication is over.
I am confused. Who is Din Djarin?
I turn to Mando, who seems shaken.
"What's up? You know this Din? "

"Pretty well..." He hesitates for a second "He's me"
