CHAPTER 4: New Problems
It'd been a very long week for Zora. She'd scribed for her sister with crystal pendulums. She had also used an old blood spell to try and locate her. She's used a bunch of different methods and with all of them, she had failed.
Her incompetence had led to her crying, which she tried to avoid. But at the end after doubtlessly failing, she couldn't help but to cry. Her only sister, whom her mother had entrusted her to keep safe, had vanished. No, had been kidnapped.
At first, Zora was suspicious, she did consider herself fairly strong. So the fact that none of her tracking spells were working, she found weird. After doing a blood spell and it still not working, her suspicions were confirmed.
ZIzi had been kidnapped by some witch who was blocking their location. Her only choice was to go and get another witch or someone who practices voodin, to help her. Zora chose Legbi.
Legbi stared at her wide eyed, with her hands still sprawled across her shop's counter. Her mouth agape, she kept closing and opening it in her state of disbelief.
"Uh, I..did you not forget? We're in New Orleans? No magic is allowed here girl!" Legbi exclaimed.
Zora sighed.
"I know, but you have to understand. This is my sister we're talking about. She's missing and I've already used magic. I have to find her" she pleaded.
Legbi gasped bring her hand to her mouth.
"You used magic? Why are you here?! Do you not know what the punishment for using magic here is?!" She exclaimed.
Zora shrugged, "we moved here because magic wasn't allowed that meant I could protect my little sister from the witches who are after us. But look where the fuck that got me cuz' a witch kidnapped her!".
This information caused Legbi to from in confusion.
"A witch kidnapped her?" Zora nodded frantically.
"How is that possible...that witch should be dead because Vamin doesn't allow witches.." she trailed off looking to the side.
"Well she's still alive because I can't find my sister and I just did a locator spell right before coming here".
"And you want my help" Legbi pointed to her chest.
Zora nodded.
"At the risk of my life?" She asked causing Zora to roll her eyes.
"Vamin has a magic locator device, I'll take the blame for you".
Legbi did a waving gesture, telling Zora to 'come on'. Zora followed her behind the counter towards the back of the shop.
The room they walked into was spacey. The left wall was just a huge bookshelf. An alter on top of some wooden nightstand sat towards the back of the room, facing the girls. There was another shelf in the right side of the room with potions, and herbs. Ceramic vase chapped bins littered the floor towards the right side of the room.
