Kick off begins. Crowds of people are cheering on as Steele makes a touchdown very quickly. The band plays the fight song, trombones and trumpets blasting and cutting through the band. Short Luke looks upon the team once the song ended. He looks at the band directors, and wonders when they'll drop.
As six minutes shows up on the timer for the second quarter, Mr. Deter tells the band to exit on either their left or right section by section. The trombones are told to go out on their left. Short Luke goes down, trombone in right hand trail. He dreads the warm up. They'd already been playing for a couple hours now. Why do they need to warm up?
The band performs their show. As they do, every time Tall Luke gets near Short Luke, he tries to sweep his feet so that he'll fall. He misses every time.
At the end of the performance, at the very last note, as if on cue, the band directors drop to the ground. The entire area gasps. Short Luke holds back a laugh. He can't believe it actually worked. Now to execute the second part of his plan: kick Tall Luke out of band.
Ambulances rush to Lenhoff Stadium to pick up the deceased band directors. Everyone in band is crying. Everyone, except Short Luke. He looks calm on the outside, but in the inside, he's celebrating what will be the second best achievement he'll ever make. Killing and taking over a person in power.
As the band gets sent home via buses, Short Luke plans his domination more. He thinks about contacting a witch to make him more powerful. He pulls his phone out, the blue light of it illuminating onto his face, the dimness of the bus making it more prominent. He looks on Google Maps for any witches near by that can help him. He scrolls down, and finally sees one that catches his eye.
"Those who choose me will surely find successfulness within their sad, pitiful lives", he reads the description.
"It can't hurt to try", he says to himself.
As the bus stops, Short Luke gets up. He's finally in a great mood. He's like a rainbow after a storm. He's like a spot of color surrounded by black and white. He's like the sunshine peeping out of storm clouds. He's the only one happy while everyone else is incredibly distraught. He skips to the band hall to put his things away, and walks out of Steele. He waits for his mother to pick him up as he goes on his phone again. It feels like hours before his mom finally arrives. It was only 15 minutes. He goes into the passenger seat of the car, and buckles up.
"How was school today?" His mother asked him as she drives out of the parking lot.
"Not now Mother, I am plotting", Short Luke looks out of the window.
His mother looks at what's on the radio, "Oh, I love this song!"
Short Luke slowly opens his eyes. He looks at the clock, and sees that it's 11:20. He groans, and sluggishly gets out of bed. He quickly gets himself ready to go see the witch. It's only a 30 minute walk from his house, so it's not too bad. He gets some cash, headphones, and his phone, and heads out the door. He listens to music on his way there.
He walks up to your average suburban Texas house. The neighborhood looks relatively new, but not new enough to be expensive. He knocks on the door three times, and waits. A teenager with dark brown hair and glasses answers.
"Uh... Hello?..." She looks at him with an arched eyebrow. Luke?
"Oh, Renee? I must have the wrong house. Sorry."
"If you're looking for the witch, that's me. What do you want?" She opens the door a little wider.
"Ah, well I was hoping you could give me something to make me stronger."
"Oh, I see. I have plenty of that. Hold on a second", Renee closes the door, and runs upstairs to get a potion bottle. She runs back down and gives it to Short Luke.
"That'll be 150 dollars", She holds her palm out. Short Luke gives her the money, and he receives the potion.
"How long will it take to work?" He looks at it.
"One to three days, depending", she shrugs. "Anything else?"
"No, this will do. Thanks," he waves and leaves. Renee waves back at him.
Short Luke downs the potion on his way back home. He feels excited about what effects it will have on him. He waits for two agonizing days until Monday morning finally arrives. He looks into the mirror, and sees himself. He's become a chad. An alpha male. The ideal male body. He wants to test out how strong he has become. He lifts his dresser up with ease, and sets it down gracefully, as it didn't make a sound. It was like lifting a paper clip. He grabs his backpack, and heads to the front door.
"Goodbye Mother", he says in a manly, deep, chad voice as he walks out the door. As he walks, everything happens in slow motion, as if it revolved around him. A car crashed on his street, as the driver was distracted by the man walking down the street. That driver was no longer straight.
Short Luke looks at his school heroically, "Time to conquer this band", he says to himself as he walks through the doors.
