Carla's pov:

A week has passed since my daughter and Ivan were abducted. The only lead the police have is the video of the surveillance camera from one of the neighbors showing a man getting out of the black pickup truck, unfortunately his face was covered so they don't know the person. We spend most of our time talking to the police in charge of the curse.

Yesterday I received a call from an unknown number telling me to come with $10,000,000 if I want to see my daughter alive. The person said that he will send me the location and that I shouldn't involve the police or tell anyone about it. I felt bad that I was lying to Matt but I have to do this for my daughter. I started moving up and down the living room, my eyes still focused on my phone at the table. My mom, Matt's mom and Dr Amber were in the kitchen cooking dinner. I was with them earlier but I told them that I needed to get some air. Amber joined me in the living room and she was acting weird. She kept on asking me if I knew when the guys would be back from the police station and I told her that they would be back before dinner. Amber quickly grabbed her purse and she left me a message for her husband Paul, which I think is a lie but I didn't want to ask her questions because she's not the only one who's lying to her husband.

Shortly after Amber left I received a text, I took my phone from the table and when I opened the text, I noticed that it was from the same number. The message showed the name and address of the place I should take the money. I snicked out of the house cos I didn't want mom and Shanice to see me because they will start asking me questions. I entered into the black Audi and I drove out of the compound. I went straight to the bank to get half of the money, the other half was in the car, I entered the building and went straight to the manager's office. I told him that I needed the money to hire a private investigator. He looked hesitant but he allowed me to get the money. I drove half a mile to the place I was told to go.

The house looked abandoned, I parked the car and I started walking with the bags of money in my hand. As I was walking towards the front porch I noticed that there was a car parked on the side of the house and it looked similar to Amber's car. I continued to walk and when I reached the porch, I received another text telling me to come in. I slowly opened the door and I was welcomed by a bad smell, it was as if a rat died in the house. I walked into the living room and I sat down on the dirt couch. I heard footsteps coming from the stairs behind me, I turned then I saw a tall man coming with Amber and she was holding a bag. I was shocked to see Amber here but then I figured she must have been called here as well and I think the bag she's holding contains money. Amber sat down next to me on the couch and the man sat down on the couch opposite ours. What surprised me is that he wasn't covering his face, he didn't mind us seeing his face.

"Have you come with the money?" he asked me.

"Yes, but I am not going to give you the money until I see my daughter," I don't know where the courage came from.

"Fair enough. Let me tell my partners to bring the kids here," he took a phone from his pocket and then he sent a text to his partners.

We sat quietly waiting for them to come, he asked me to open the bags to see if I wasn't lying and I gladly opened the first bag and when he saw the money he smiled. When I was about to open the second bag, we heard the door open. We all looked at the door and I was shocked to see Matt and Paul standing next to Tiffany and Ivan and two people behind them one was holding a gun at them the other was just standing there and the person looked nervous.

"Matt, Paul. What are you doing here?" I questioned.

"I saw you acting weird yesterday, so i told someone to inform me of your every move and when the person I hired to follow you saw you leaving the house, he informed me. I told Paul to come with me and that's how we followed you here," Matt stated.

"Quite talking," The man said pointing his gun at me and Amber. They made us sit down on the floor.

The person removed the mask and I was dumbstruck. I thought my eyes were deceiving me but Amber on the other hand didn't look shocked, she looked scared. She looked at her husband and son.

"Marie!" Matt and I said in unison. I hugged my daughter with one hand.
