                           Epilogue

It's been four years now since the incident of Marie and her husband Nick. As a family we have decided to leave everything behind because that's where they belong, in the past. 

Amber was released from prison on good behavior. She and Paul have started working on fixing their relationship at least what was left of it, although they are currently still divorced. Paul moved out of our house and he is living in an apartment complex near his workplace, he still comes to visit as every weekend. Ivan is the one having trouble forgiving his mom, I mean I'm his real mother but we can't just forget that Amber raised him which I am very thankful for, so technically that makes him her son too. 

Jasmine and Elijah are now engaged and they will soon be getting married. Elijah no longer works as our bodyguard or driver, he now works as our company lawyer while Jasmine is being prepared to be the future CEO of our company by my husband Matt. She seems to be excited because she has dreamed of running a company one day so she said. 

Some of our closest friends are not happy that Matt and I chose her to take over the company instead of Tiffany. According to them "we made a mistake to choose a person we don't know much about and whose parents wanted to kill Matt and Tiffany". But what they don't know is that the love we have for Tiffany is the same love we have for all our children and we don't expect for them to understand. 

Tiffany is in Hollywood shooting a new movie which will be released soon. I'm very proud of my daughter for everything she has achieved and the awards she has won and how far she has come. Acting has always been her thing.

I was busy running up and down making sure that everything they are preparing for our Christmas dinner is ok. I made sure that everyone's favorite meal is prepared, my parents and Matt's parents won't attend our dinner but they will be celebrating Christmas together in Dubai. 

Time seems to fly by quickly and I started feeling anxious because it's been awhile since we had dinner as a family because of how busy Jasmine is and how long Tiffany has been gone. I heard the doorbell and I walked over to see who it was when I opened the door, I was met by Elijah and his parents. We exchanged greetings and I opened the door wider for them to go in. I was about to close the door when I noticed the Hathaway's coming. 

"Merry xmas Carla," Paul greeted me. 

"Merry xmas," I said back. 

"Hope you don't mind Amber tagging along," he pointed towards Amber who was standing an inch behind him. 

"No I don't, happy holidays Amber." I opened the door wider for them to come in.

She gave me a small smile and she seemed to relax, "Happy holidays to you too Carla," 

Sat down at the dinner table waiting for the others to come, they went to pick up Tiffany from the airport. It didn't take time for them to come back, when Tiffany saw me, she dropped her bags and rushed over to me. We hugged each other and I couldn't help but cry. 

She sat down on the chair next to me and Ivan sat on my right side facing Amber who was sitting on the chair opposite. Jasmine sat in between Elijah and Matt. 

"The food tasted good," Elijah's mom stated with a mouth full. 

"You have to thank Miranda for the job well done," Matt bragged. 

"Yeah mom, Miranda knows how to cook. That's why I have chosen her to cook on our wedding day," Elijah added 

"Umh." Tiffany turned to face Elijah "I am not going to let you use my nanny, if you want her to cook for you then pay her and just to be clear you should give the money to me cos I'm like her accountant," she joked. 

"And I'm Tiffany's assistant so if she's not around you can give the money to me," Ivan added. He has started coming out of his shell and we are all happy to see the other side of him. 

Elijah didn't have a comeback for these two so he just looked down at his plate faking sadness. 

Jasmine parted his shoulder" Don't be sad Eli remember that she's also my nanny,"she said looking between Tiffany and Ivan" so she will cook for the guests for free as our wedding gift,"

Miranda appeared from the kitchen with Lauren behind her. 

"I heard that I will be cooking for a wedding, I'm too old for that so I will be attending the wedding as one of the guests. Plus being a nanny is a gift by itself so don't expect any presents from me," she said in a joking manner. And we all started laughing. 

We spent the rest of the day laughing and talking. I can't believe how my family has increased over the past few years, it used to be just Matt, Tiffany and me but we now have two more kids and my soon to be son in law Elijah.
