Marie's pov:

"Marie!" Matt and Carla said in unison.

"Shocked to see me," I sat down on the arm of the couch and I was happy to see the people who ruined my life sitting on the floor in fear.

"But, w-we saw you die" Carla turned her head to look at Matt who was sitting right beside her "and we even attended your funeral," she sounded confused.

"Actually honey we didn't see her die. We just saw her having a seizure and one of the nurses ushered us out of the room, so we don't know what happened in there," Matt stated.

I put my gun on my lap and I clapped for him. I was actually impressed, I might say. "See Matt gets it. Anyway everything you saw that day was just an act, me and my husband planned everything," I was actually enjoying the looks on their faces.

"But how did you manage to fool the doctor?" Carla asked me.

I saw Amber pleading with me with her eyes but I ignored her. "You mean Dr Amber Hathaway. She was in on it," I informed them. They all turned to look at Amber. Their eyes were full of questions that only I had answers to.

"Wait what! Amber, you let us mourn Marie even when you knew that she was alive, what did you gain?" Carla asked. She had mixed feelings, she looked angry and confused.

Hearing her complain about mourning me made me furious, how dare her. When she and her husband caused Nick and I so much pain. The pain that will never go away for the rest of our lives.

"She gained a lot...or let me just say, she managed to keep her little family together," Nick said sarcastically, waving his gun in the air.

"What do you mean buy that?" Paul asked.

"And what was the point of faking your death?" Matt questioned.

"Oh you wanna find out why I did what I did?" I was getting angry for a minute.

"Yes"

"Okay, here's why"

Flashback

"Nick hurry up, remember that today we have the doctor's appointment and we have five minutes left," I shouted from downstairs.

"I'm coming,"

Nick came downstairs in less than a minute and we both got out of the house. I was three weeks pregnant by then, we both entered the car and he drove us to the hospital but before we reached the hospital, Nick stopped the car at the gas station and he got out to put gas in the car. As Nick was putting the gas in the car, I noticed a tall man with black hair and blue eyes who was standing near the ice-cream track on the other side of the street, acting weird. And the next thing I saw was him hitting the ground with a thud.

I got out of the car in a hurry and I started running towards the man. I heard the sound of the car and Nick's voice when I had reached the middle of the road, and the next thing I felt was someone pushing me and we both fell to the ground. The car that almost hit me, parked in front of the man who fainted, two people got out of the car and they carried the man into the car and they drove off without caring about me or Nick. I felt a sharp pain in my stomach and I started screaming in pain, Nick helped me get back to the car and he drove off. When we reached the hospital they rushed me to the ER and after hours of me being unconscious, I woke up to the news that I had lost my baby. The only good news I received that day was that I was able to conceive again.

The whole month I was depressed and nothing made sense to me. Nick was always there for me, he encouraged me to go back to my true self again but I veiled to myself that I will never be kind to anyone again after that incident. I woke up one day in search of a job, but unfortunately I wasn't successful. So I decided to go back home, on my way home I overheard two women talking. One of the women said that her daughter had been having miscarriages and that she and her husband are looking for a surrogate, and when I heard the amount they were willing to pay, I approached them and I told them that I was willing to help and she gave me the address.
