When we were done playing games the guys left and it was only Ashley, Kimberly, Ivy and I, so we all went to my room. Ash and Kim were sitting on my bed while Ivy  was sitting on a pink curved couch opposite my bed facing the wall where there is a big flat screen TV, the color of the couch matches with the pink and purple paint on the wall and the pink fur carpet. I went downstairs to go and get us something to eat and when I came back I found them all sitting on the bed going through the photo album mom had left the other day. In it there are photos of my mom and dad when they were younger and they are also my photos and other family members' photos in it. I placed the food on the bed which mostly contained snacks and drinks and I joined them.

"Wait! Can you please go back to the previous page," Ash asked Kim, pointing her finger to the page she was referring to "is that?…no freaking way, that's Carla and Matt TJs parents. They looked cute" she says excitedly.

"Yeah, they were only teenagers on that pic and it was their prom date and grandpa David was against it, he didn't what his daughter to go out on the prom date with the person she recently became friends with," I told them the story my parents told me when I was a little girl and they all did aww in unison.

"Their story is like Romeo and Juliet, I wish my parents went through the same thing," when Ivy  finished saying we all looked at her with our eyebrows furrowed.

I don't remember saying that my grandparents from both sides of the family were against my parents dating.

"Uh Ivy, I don't think the Romeo and Juliet story is similar to the story Tj told us," Kim says looking at Ivy who was so convinced that she was right.

"Yes it is dahhh," she says, dragging the word dah.

"How?" we asked in unison.

She puts the park of cheetos down "Her grandfather was against her parents dating…" Kim, Ash and I nodded, signaling her to keep going "...and Romeo and Juliet's families were against-'' she was cut short by Kim.

"I still don't think the story's similar," Kim says, munching on her doritos.

"Whatever," she rolled her eyes and grabbed the park of cheetos.

We continued watching the photos and I kept on telling them the story behind each and every picture they were interested in.

"Who is this pregnant woman standing in between your mom and dad?" Ash asked me with curiosity in her eyes.

We all turned our attention to the picture she was pointing at. It's a pic of mom and dad standing next to a young lady who seems to be in the early stages of her pregnancy, she seems to be the same age as my mom. She's a brunette with a heart shaped face, brown eyes and she has fair skin. I remember my mom told me that she was her friend.

"That's mom's friend, they went to high school together and when she was pregnant she started living with them because she didn't have any family members to help her during her pregnancy," I proudly started.

"I think I-I have seen her before, I just don't remember where," Kim puts her hand on her chin probably thinking about the woman and where she saw her.

I looked at her confused because the woman she was referring to is dead, at least that's what my parents told me.

"Kimberly, the woman in this pic died a long time ago during childbirth, her name was Marie. But her baby survived and it was adopted by a couple who lived in Texas. Obviously my parents wanted to adopt the baby but they couldn't allow them so they decided to let the baby go with the couple. So you seeing her is impossible" I told them in a sad tone and they all looked at me with sympathy.

"Yeah you're right, I didn't see her in person but I think I saw her photo somewhere but I just don't remember where," she says.

After reaching the middle of the photo album, we stopped because we were all tired  and I needed to start preparing myself for dinner. We were going to meet my dad's new company partner. They helped me pick up my outfit for the evening, we spent like forty-five minutes just to find the right outfit. And when we finally found it, Lauren came to my room with two bags in her hands, she handed me the bags telling me that they were from mom and then she left. I opened one of the bags and I pulled out a very nice knee-length dress. It was white and tight from the waist going up and black and loose from the waist going down. By the time I finished getting ready it was already time for us to go for dinner.

We went downstairs and we found mom and dad waiting for me, I said goodbye to my friends and they immediately left the house. Me and my parents went to the black limo parked just in front of the house, we got in and our driver Carlos started the car. He was older than my father and I felt bad for him that he gets to drive us at his age-I know he's not that old, he is probably in his fifties-one day I asked him why he hasn't retired knowing that he has made a lot of money and he told me that we are like his second family and that's why it's hard for him to let go of his job because letting go of his job will mean not spending time with us. We arrived at the beautiful and huge hotel, you could see five flags on top with windows in between the flags, just below the flags there was a symbol 'i' in white and black, and the word inter-continental next to the 'i'. From where the car was parked, you could see the blue light through the glass and from both sides of the glass, there was a symbol 'i', below the symbols there are windows. We got out of the car and we proceeded to enter through the glass and gold door and on top of the door there was the same word inter-continental on the golden wall. We went straight to a couple with three kids, two teenage boys and a little girl. Dad introduced us, we exchanged greetings and then we sat down on a round table covered in a dark gray cloth which matched the chairs. A few minutes into dinner I noticed a familiar face, my mom followed my sight and surprisingly she knew the woman.

"Matt, isn't that Dr. Hathaway?" Mom asked dad.

He turned to take a look at the woman my mom was referring to because she was sitting on the table behind him, "Yeah she's the one" he sounded like he was surprised to see her there.

"Wait, you guys know her? I don't remember introducing you people," I was confused as to how they knew her cos I knew it wasn't from me.

"Yes we-"

"Do you know her?" Dad cut my mom off by asking me a question.

"Yes, she's Ivan's mother. But you didn't answer my question" I asked him again.

"Yes we know her, we met her when we took…remember that pregnant woman we told you about?" he asked.

"Marie?"

"Yes, when we took her to the hospital," he says nervously and I figured it might be his partner and his family who's making him nervous and I shouldn't have asked them that question in front of people.

I watched closely as Mrs Hathaway handed the person she was with a brown envelope. I was relieved that she didn't see us. She left shortly after that and the man she gave the envelope followed behind her. I started thinking about what Ivan told me, I kept quiet the rest of the dinner and when we got back home I went straight to bed thinking about the secret Mrs Hathaway could be hiding from her husband.
