"Hajime, please, let's just talk about this." Komaeda sighs, struggling against the ropes.

Here he is tied to a large, tall wooden stick, arms tied behind it, as well as his ankles in the middle of an empty field. Kindling and hay are gathered all around his feet, sprinkled with gasoline.

The brunet looks up at him with a crazed look in his eyes. "I can't help it. They're telling me you're bad. They're telling me I need to do this to you. I have to listen to them."

"Who, Hajime? Who are the ones telling you this?"

Hinata points across the field with a lazy smile. "They are."

Komaeda turns his head. "Hajime, there's no one there. Please, let me free. I can help you."

". . .They tell me you're lying. And I need to do this more than ever. You've got to go. You've got to burn."

   "I really don't."

Hinata lights a torch, illuminating the night.

   "Goodbye, Nagito."

   "Hajime-"

Hinata lights the fire, watching as the flames spread quickly. Komaeda shivers but tries to stay calm, hoping and praying that the brunet will return to his senses and free him.

Unfortunately, that's not something that's going to happen.

Sweat starts to pour down his back and face, and he struggles more than ever to get free. Meanwhile, Hinata takes a couple of steps back, waiting for the boy to burn.

Flames start to lick at Komaeda's ankles, making his fear grow and grow before spiralling out of control.

   "Hajime!"

The brunet's face is as blank as a slate.

Suddenly, the flames rise higher and higher, surrounding him. Nagito grunts, straining against the ropes, screaming as his feet are finally set on fire.

His limbs spasm (well, the best he can with his arms and legs tied so tightly), shaking his head frantically. "C-Come on, Haji-" He cuts himself off with a shriek.

The flames start to climb their way up his body, first his ankles, and then his legs, and then his thighs. The wooden stake he's attached to catches flame, helping to set the rest of Komaeda's body on fire finally.

Hinata folds his arms over his chest and smiles.

The fluffy-haired boy gasps as the dark smoke and carbon monoxide fill his lungs as the rest of him burns. He groans as his skin starts to pull, and he screams again (well, the best he can), and a couple of moments later, his capillaries begin to leak.

The pain is so intense, so unreal, so unbearable-he feels as if he's going to pass out any second. Eventually, all good, clean air starts to leave him, and he passes out.

   "Goodbye, Komaeda Nagito." Hinata murmurs.

He turns his back on the burning mess and slowly begins making his way back towards the city.

Time passes, and eventually, Komaeda dies, organs shot to hell, and skin turned to ash.

   The voices laugh.
