Hiding From Something

Hinata gasps and pants as he sprints through the campus, each thud of his foot on the ground shooting a zap of pain through his legs. He huffs and puffs as he pushes himself even harder, willing himself not to stop. And gods above, he wants to stop and fall over so bad.

"Someone. . ," He mutters, "Please!"

"Get back here, you Reserve Course Scum! You need to learn your place!" The Main Course students pursuing him laugh.

How the hell had this happened? He had just come back from hanging out in the 77-B classroom with Nanami, Koizumi, and Soda. He had an authorization signed and dated by Yukizome Chisa from a while ago that allowed him to come and go between the Reserve Campus and the 77-B classroom since he was their classmate in all ways except officially.

He was practically best friends with everyone in the class. . .well, except for one person. Komaeda Nagito didn't think too highly of him and vice versa. Unlike when they first met when they were fighting all of the time, now they just avoided each other when the whole group was together and tolerated each other when necessary.

Not that any of that is essential right now.

The brunet's eyes widen as the Main Course Boys Dorms come into view. Maybe if he's fortunate, one of them will let him duck in and hide for a moment.

He starts banging along the first sets of doors along the walls but getting no reply. Growing desperate, he moves faster and calling out. He can hear the Main Course Students footsteps coming into earshot.

Suddenly the door numbered 007 is flung open, and he's met with none other than Komaeda Nagito himself, eyes widened with shock.

The brunet practically collapses into Komaeda's arms. "Please. . .Please, help me!" He doesn't care how pathetic he looks; these people are going to destroy him if they catch up to him! "You have to hide me! If they catch me, they'll fuck me up!"

Komaeda doesn't even take a second to mull it over, dragging the boy still clinging to him inside, shutting and locking the door behind him.

"You owe me an explanation afterwards, Reserve-kun," The lucky student sighs as there's a knock on the door, "Get under my bed."

Hinata nods, limbs still shaking as he falls to the ground and rolling under the bed. Komaeda grips the switchblade in his pocket just in case and heads towards the door.

He opens it, finding himself face-to-face with three angry-looking Main Course students. Komaeda smiles pleasantly.

"Good evening. What can I do for you, gentlemen?"

The one in the middle folds his arms over his chest. "Hey. Sorry to bother you, bro, but have you seen a reserve course brat running around here?"

Komaeda blinks. "I don't know anything about a reserve course student. Besides, this is the Main Course campus. No reserve is that stupid."

"There was just one we were trying to uh, talk to, and they fled this way, so-"

"No Reserve here," Komaeda repeats firmly, "Will that be all?"

"Do you mind if we come in and look around? In case he snuck in the back or whatever."

"I do mind. Now good day."

Komaeda goes to shut the door, but the one in his middle shoves his foot in the doorway, stopping him.

"What are you hiding?" They demand.

Nagito pulls out his weapon and reveals the blade. "Only this blade I'm not afraid to use on unwanted visitors." He responds sweetly.

One of the Main Course Student's henchman taps his shoulder anxiously. "D-Dude, this man seems unstable. We should beat it."

"I suggest you listen to your buddy," He twirls his knife around casually, "Because I won't hesitate."

The Main Course Student snarls before backing away and walking off, his other two henchmen slinking behind him. Komaeda sighs, shutting and locking the door once again. He sets his switchblade down and faces his bed.

"You can come out now; they're gone. Or you can stay there as long as you'd like if it makes you feel safe. Do you need a hand getting out?"

Hinata slowly crawls out from under the bed before sitting down on top of it. "T-Thank you so much. . .I owe you big time."

Komaeda folds his arms over his chest. "No need. . .but what was that all about?"

"J-Just some bullies upset I thought I could stand on equal grounds with Ultimates and walk on their campus. . .I'm surprised you weren't a part of that group."

The lucky student raises an eyebrow. "That's no way to talk to the person who just saved you. I could still throw you to the wolves."

Hinata groans. "I'm sorry. . .I'm just stressed. I'm super grateful to you."

Komaeda smiles softly. "I was kidding. I wouldn't rat out a classmate-no matter how talentless and foolish they are."

The brunet perks up. "Classmate?"

Nagito rolls his eyes. "Obviously. Just because you're not technically in the Main Course doesn't mean you're not a part of our class."

"You really think of me as a classmate?"

"Don't make this weird, Reserve-kun."

Hinata smiles. "But really. . .thanks for this. I promise I'll make this up to you."

"I expect nothing less. Alright then. . .want to, uh. . .get a drink?"

"R-Really?"

"I mean, sure, why not?"

Hajime smiles, moving to his feet. "Sure. But let it be my treat. It's the least I can do."

Komaeda nods.

"Indeed it is."
