Lily Evans was just strolling around Diagon Alley, having been dropped off by her parents after telling them that she had forgotten a book. Which was a rich lie. She was there to visit the one and only Evan, who she had heard was working at a small coffee shop that was oozing with magic. Okay maybe, yes, she had a small infatuation with the enby witch. But she stopped dead in her tracks when she crossed the window, her mouth gaping open. Holy crap...is that James and Regulus?

She quickly walked through the door, walking over to Evan instead of bothering a sweet moment that they were undeniably having. "So James and Regulus huh? When did you find out?" she asks them, looking at the two boys before looking at the enby.

"Just right now yeah. They came in here and James just got him a strawberry cake, which Regulus loves so-" they ramble before Lily's laugh causes them to stop, blushing when they realized they were going on and on. Lily found it rather adorable though so it was fine.

"A strawberry cake? I'm guessing that he's gotten it bad" she smiles at them before looking at the two again. Only to look straight into Regulus' eyes. The poor boy looked as if he was a kid on Christmas who was caught opening presents early. Oh and not to mention James when Regulus whispered and made him turn around. He looked like a deer in headlights.

"Evans! Fancy seeing you here!" James exclaims almost too loudly, scared and nervous beyond belief. Lily, on the other hand, was trying so hard to maintain her giggles. "Did you see their faces?" she smiles at Evan, which only caused the enby to start laughing.

Once the two had finished laughing, Lilly cleared her throat and smiled at the two, cheeks red from laughter. "Fancy seeing you Potter. You as well Black." she acknowledges the younger Slytherin and he just sheepishly waves at her.

Of course, he was self-conscious, being on a date with a boy whose previous 'infatuation' just walked in. They were caught. Red lights were blaring in Regulus' head. She was going to tell people. She had plenty of friends! His distress was quite clear to Evan, who made a glass of water float to him, which he quickly drank as soon as it got to him.

This action alone told Lily what was going on in that brain of his.

She leans towards him, though not enough to be in his personal space. "It's okay Regulus, I won't say anything. Promise" Lily whispers, holding out a pinky to the boy who she hoped was going to be a new friend.

Promises did mean a great deal to Regulus Black. So he nodded his head, intertwining his pinky with hers. "Okay" he hums, giving her a soft smile before beckoning to the table in front of him.

James looked at Regulus with a confused look. Did that beckon mean that he wanted Lily to join them? Is he really that boring? Did he already do something wrong? His greatest fears we about to come true-

"Although this has been a super nice talk, I'd love to go back to my date Evans, if you don't mind. Maybe you can set up your own date with mockingbird over there" Regulus smiles, motioning to the enby who was not so casually listening to the conversation.

Okay...maybe he wasn't inviting Lily-

"Rain check on that hummingbird? I do have a few more things to buy for school." the Gryffindor red head patted Evan on the head, smiling at them before winking and leaving, going down the street to her original destination.

"D-Did she just say r-ra-rain check?" they whimper, pointing to the door with a dreamy look. Though they were talking to themselves, Regulus couldn't help but to laugh and shake his head.

"Now Potter, where were we?"
