James and Regulus were glowing by the end of the day. They almost forgot that Mrs.Potter was supposed to pick them up. Of course, they just had to be fifteen minutes late to the initial time of pick.

"Our apologizes Mrs.Potter, time truly got ahead of us" Regulus apologizes as he and James pile into the back seat. Euphemia looked at the two boys through the rearview mirror and gave them a knowing look before driving off. Regulus did not have a potions book. Or any book for that matter.

Time flew past and before they knew it, the three boys were standing at Platform nine and three quarters with Euphemia and Fleamont Potter. Regulus was fidgety, as usual when he first stepped onto the said platform. Every time he looked up from his shaky hands, he was scared to see the familiar faces of his mother and father. Fortunately, that isn't who he saw.

Unfortunately, that very person was Lucius Malfoy. He was indefinitely going to make his life at school a living hell. Lucius only gave him a small smirk before entering the train.

Now the train was definitely something that always distracted Regulus. When he was a kid, he thought the Hogwarts Express could take him anywhere, although the name itself said otherwise. He imagined being able to travel the world in that red and black speeding transportation. He wouldn't need to stop for anything or anyone. Just him and the train.

After all these years, the youngest Black marveled at seeing the train, a small smile reaching his face once they got closer and closer. He looked at the people around him, the Potters and his own brother, and that smile grew. He finally had people to go on that train ride with him.

The three boys got inside the train, putting their trunks away before looking for Remus and Peter in their compartment. The Marauders always had their own compartment, Remus usually being early enough to get an empty one. He did that every year, which Sirius found quite adorable. Regulus and Sirius sat on either side of James, Sirius taking the window seat while the other Black took the seat next to the door. Of course, the Gryffindor favored sitting closer to him rather than his brother. James discreetly intertwined his pinkie finger with Regulus', making sure his friends across from him could not see.
