Lizzie was the first one to wake up, everyone was exhausted from last night's trip and that "first thing in the morning" turned into "first thing at six o'clock in the evening". Lizzie was nervous, she had this feeling in her stomach that something terrible was about to happen. Lizzie didn't know her uncle Kai, she only knew that he was a psychopath whose sole purpose was to ruin the lives of his entire family for the sake of power. The mere thought of meeting someone like that sent shivers down her spine. Despite everything, she felt confident that she could stand up to him ( she could be a cold-hearted bitch herself after all), what worried her the most was how Josie was going to deal with him, she always tended to look on the bright side of people, and she knew that someone like Kai would not hesitate to take advantage of that.
After so much thought Lizzie finally decided to get out of bed. The first thing she did was going to the cafeteria to get something to eat, she had been craving waffles for a long time, but she only found a protein bar that she knew would only give her energy for about thirty minutes "great" she muttered to herself. After her walk through the kitchen she headed to the forest surrounding the school, they had agreed that this was the place where the spell would take place, it was certainly the spot with the best access to the sky. Fortunately for them, they didn't have to worry about celestial events, between all the meteor showers and eclipses these kinds of occurrences were not lacking
When Lizzie arrived at the forest she only found Freya, she was preparing the ascendant, making sure everything was ready.
"Hey, it's good to know that someone's awake," said Freya while keeping her eyes on the spellbook she was holding in her hands.
Lizzie was silent for a moment, she still felt a bit intimidated whenever the witch was around "oh, yes, a queen is never late" after a while she finally managed to say with her usual wit. Freya said nothing and Lizzie felt afraid that the other witch would think she was a shallow, immature little girl.
"All set" Freya mused, a small smile gracing her face.
"I guess now we just have to wait for the others to arrive," Lizzie replied.
"Yes, as far as I can tell they're still a bit...puzzled," Freya replied.
"I don't blame them, I am too, to tell you the truth, I feel..." Lizzie was silent for a moment, considering whether if it was wise to show herself vulnerable to someone she had just met, in the end she decided it was best to keep her thoughts to herself "ready" Lizzie said at last, though she knew she was lying, the real word that suited her feelings was terrified.
"Great, you sound confident, that will help your sister a lot," Freya said.
Just as Freya said "sister" they saw Josie approaching, she was walking five meters away, and Alaric, Davina, and Hope were behind her. They all arrived in about ten seconds and Freya greeted them by saying
"Everything is ready, the only thing we are missing is the blood of a Bennet witch, do you have it?"
"Straight from the arsenal," Alaric said as he handed it to her.
"Perfect then, shall we begin?" Freya asked
Josie went over to her dad and gave him a tight hug, Lizzie did the same and when they were free of her dad's grip he said.
