" Excuse me, is this even real?" A person asks from behind me. I turn around. It's a girl that looks Indian. She has a bunch of henna tattoos all over her body. I pinch myself hoping that it isn't real.
" Yeah, it's real," I reply sadly.
" I'm Melody, daughter of Apollo, by the way," the girl says shaking hands with all of us. She blushes when her hand touches Theo's.
" Nice to meet you Melody. I'm Vanessa, but you can call me Nessa, daughter of Hades. These are my cousins, Theo and Rainy. They're children of Poseidon. I was worried that Melody wouldn't like that I was a Hades kid, but instead she smiles.
" At least I'm not the only new person here. I'm so confused! What's the deal with all of this magic? I mean, I didn't even know that this was a bit possible," Melody says in a hurry.
" We feel exactly the same way," Rainy says knowingly. " This has got to be one of the strangest days I've ever been through." I have to agree. Nothing this strange has ever happened to me in my whole life. I wish I that I could've known about this sooner. mean, why did our "mortal parent" have to lie to us all these years? Why couldn't the gods allow us to see them person?
" Well, all freshman have our first class in ' how to manage your powers class' or 'HTMYPC'. Want to walk over together?" Melody asks sweetly.
" Okay," I say genuinely happy. We start walking over to class together. For once, I found another person who actually knows how I'm feeling. And she's nice too. Maybe she could possibly become my friend. Maybe this school year won't suck after all! = }
