Chapter 20

"Avi, no!" Kirstie squealed, but I continued my relentless tickling.
"Say it!" I laughed.
"Dragons...are...real," she said between hiccups of laughter. I move my hands to her waist, and kiss her gently.
"We have a thing today."
"Yeah," she sighs, "we have to go talk about our relationship."
"Let's go get ready," I smile at her. We stand together in my bedroom. Her looking at her side of the closet, while I look at mine.
"I think I'm ready," she turned to me.
"You're still in your pajamas," I laugh, and she face palms.
"No, for, you know."
I look at her, and kiss her gently. She pulls away. "Why not?" I ask.
"Because we have a commitment."
I smile at her, and pull out an outfit that would match hers. She smiled once more and kissed me softly before sitting in the passenger seat. I back out of the parking lot and drive to the studio. Scott and Mitch sit in chairs across from us, and Kevin and Tori are on a monitor, being interviewed.
"How long did you like Tori?" the interviewer smiled at the couple. Kevin moved his hand to Tori's shoulder, and she snuggled up into him.
"When we did that collab, I had a little crush on her, and then we started hanging out. Then, my feelings grew," Kevin smiles at her.
"Yeah. I think that the similarities in beliefs really drew me to him," Tori smiles, and Kevin kisses her hair.
"Well, that wraps up Inside Pentatonix: Romantics episode one. Tune in for next week's Scott Hoying and Mitch Grassi!" the interviewer smiled, and the screen turned black. Kevin and Tori walked out of the interviewing room.
"I have an idea!" Kirstie smiles at the group. I lace my fingers with hers.
"Shoot, girl," Kevin smiles.
"What if we went to dinner and had a movie night!" she squeezed my hand.
"All six of us?" Scott smiled.
"Yeah!" Tori giggled, and Kevin kissed her cheek.
"Okay, we don't have any other plans today so we can hang out here until you all are done!" Kevin grinned at us.
"Okay!" We say, and Kirstie and I find a spot to sit. We sit on a love seat. I play with the ends of her hair and her eyes flutter, threatening to close. I look up to the monitor to see the boys interview.
"Scott, when did you realize you had a thing for Mitch?"
"Senior year high school," Scott grinned, and Mitch craned his neck to look at him with a bewildered look on his face.
"Mitch, when did you realize you liked Scott?"
"I had a crush on him this last tour, and the feelings grew," Mitch shrugged his shoulders.
"Well, that wraps up Inside Pentatonix: Romantics episode 2. Tune in next week for the Kavi edition!"
We are ushered into the room. Two directors chairs are across from a young woman.
"Hi, my name is Sarah. Just pretend like there are no cameras and it will super easy and fun!" she smiled at us and shook our hands. Kirstie hoists herself into her chair, and the camera man counts down from five.
"Hello, and welcome to the last installment of Inside Pentatonix: Romantics. We're here with Avi Kaplan and Kirstie Maldonado. So, what is one of the struggles you guys face?"
"Oh, well there are tons of ship teams out there involving at least one of us. We know the fans will always be supportive, but we're constantly in fear of not having that support base," Kirstie explained.
"Oh, and what's one for you, Avi?"
"Probably one of our struggles is that and her boyfriend Jeremy. He had given us grief and was arrested for breaking and entering our apartment. He was a threat to us, but not anymore."
"That's good. So, tell us the story of how you two got together."
"Kirstie had just broken up with Jeremy, and she had nowhere to go. I took her in, and one thing lead to another, and we got a puppy, Olaf. Then, we went out clubbing. She was drunk, and I had to take her home. She told me she loved me, and then one thing lead to another, and we got together," I smiled, and Kirstie laced her fingers with mine.
"What was your first date?"
"We stayed in, and Avi made us some dinner, and it was delicious. Then we," Kirstie paused and looked at me, "watched Netflix."
"What does that mean?" Sarah laughed.
"We watched Netflix!" Kirstie laughed.
"Sure," Sarah gave us a fake side eye, and we laughed. "So, we're nearing the end of this episode, so we have one last question. When did you two realize you liked each other?"
"Right after the release of PTX Volume II. We were hanging out and she was looking perfect and beautiful and I realized I liked her," I smiled. I gaze over to Kirstie and tears are welling in her eyes.
"I realized I liked Avi when I was with my ex. I was sick, and he brought me soup and took care of me," Kirstie gazed over at me, and I met her eyes.
"I can see you two truly love each other. Well, that wraps up this series. Thanks for watching!" Sarah concludes. We meet up with the others outside, and go to our apartment for the movie and dinner tonight.
