five o'clock pm.

after a long day of debating, and thinking amanda had finally decided to come clean about everything. she couldn't keep it a secret anymore and she knew that pete deserved the truth. she hated lying to him more than anything, and it was time for her to be honest.

amanda sat at the kitchen table, patiently waiting for pete to arrive. her palms began to sweat as her eyes scanned over the clock on the wall. she'd been checking the time frequently over the past hour.

pete said he'd come over after his meeting and she had been anxiously awaiting his arrival since their phone call. taking a drink of her wine, amanda's mind wandered back to the night she had with colson.

their conversation was very eye opening for her and she least expected him to be so understanding of her situation. she was so sure that any feelings she had for colson disappeared the moment she and pete got serious, but after that night things changed. after having that talk, she wasn't sure of her true feelings. she began to second guess herself.

in order for her to move on with her life, she had to be honest with herself if she was going to get any form of closure. that of course meant also being honest with pete, and admitting to him that she was unsure of her feelings. it was all very scary and nerve racking to think about but she knew putting off this conversation any longer would only make things worse.

just as she set her glass back down on the table the front door opened loudly, causing the alarm to beep notifying her someone had entered the house. amanda turned her head at the sound and watched as gunner ran over to the man standing in the arch way of the kitchen.

pete was dressed in his casual clothes, a t-shirt and some sweats. he didn't look like he'd been at a meeting, amanda thought to herself. pete examined amanda, taking in her appearance. she wasn't wearing anything fancy, just her lounge wear. even in leggings and an oversized tee, pete still thought she was the most beautiful girl.

"hey." he spoke breaking the silence. "hey.. sit?" amanda suggested, gesturing to the empty chair beside her. pete walked over slowly, then took a seat at the table in the chair next to her. "how was your meeting?" amanda asked him, hoping they'd ease into the real topic of conversation.

"it was really good actually, thanks for asking. i was speaking with my manager and judd apatow actually." pete smiled, surprised she remembered where he was. "the director? the one you're always talking about?" she questioned with wide eyes.

"i was supposed to tell you this the other day but with moving and stuff, then the fight i didn't get around to it..." he started and amanda gave him her full attention. "remember how i said i had a movie idea i wanted to pitch?" he asked her with a wide smile.

"you got it? they said yes?" amanda said excitedly as she sat up straight. she looked at him with hopeful eyes as pete let out the happiest laugh she'd heard in a while. "i got it." he replied with a grin so big it stretched across his whole face.

"no way baby! i'm so proud of you!" amanda shouted as she tackled him into a tight hug. pete just let out a long breath as he held her in his arms. as they pulled away, amanda looked at him with certain eyes. she knew how perfect he was in every way, and this moment they had shared only made amanda more sure of what she needed to say.

"thanks. it's pretty exciting. really exciting actually. but we'll talk about it after we finish what we're really here for." he said, watching as amanda took her seat back beside him. "okay." amanda nodded softly.

"can i go first?" he asked her and she nodded her head yes. "i know i overreacted about the whole thing, and i apologize. but i'm not sorry for worrying or for being angry. you genuinely scared me, i was worried and you didn't want to explain. to me it felt like there was more you weren't saying." pete started letting himself open up to her completely.
