thirty four - why are you here

nine o'clock am.

how do you go from living in a home with the love of your life, his daughter and your close friends, to living alone. amanda knew that she shouldn't care anymore, especially with all that's happened between them, but she just couldn't shake the happiness she had while living with colson.

but now it was different. sure she was dating pete, but it wasn't the same. she knew that she couldn't compare the two relationships because hell that wasn't healthy, but how could she not? closing her eyes tightly amanda tossed around in her bed, her alarm about to sound any minute now. the silence of her room didn't help her thoughts in the slightest.

gunner snored softly by her feet, and she calmed herself by listening to his breathing. today was already going to be long, and now it would be even longer thanks to her restless night. just like she predicted, amanda's phone dinged repeatedly as her alarm sounded. sitting up amanda grabbed the phone to silence it, then threw the covers off of her body.

making her way to the kitchen, she stopped in the bathroom to relieve herself. once she reached the kitchen, she began making herself an iced coffee. stassie approached her and sat down at the counter with her face in her hands. amanda could instantly tell that something was wrong.

"everything okay stas?" amanda asked looking at stassie worriedly, due to the expression on her face. "you know, i hate men so much.." replying she shook her head, chuckling a bit. 'that can't be good.' amanda thought. stassie was almost laughing maniacally, which could only mean one thing.

"what'd sam do?" asking, amanda poured the milk into her coffee. "he fucked some groupie skank nate had at his place the other night. can you believe it?" amanda's eyes went wide when she'd heard her brothers name mentioned. nate knew that sammy was with stassie so why didn't he stop him?

but she knew that sammy had a reputation for that kind of thing, so to amanda it was only a matter of time before he'd fuck up. "you're kidding.. at nate's place? what the fuck. what an asshole. who was she?" amanda questioned father wanting to know in case she ever ran into the girl.

"some irrelevant bitch. she's a nobody. some girl looking for clout." stassie scoffed rolling her eyes. gunner seemingly must have heard her, being as he rushed into the kitchen quickly. he loved tea time, he's such a gossip. "gunner, uncle sammy is an asshole." amanda said, petting the puppy sitting at her feet.

"he really is such a douchebag. i can't believe i let him move in." stassie huffed, feeling stupid. her face fell at her words, signaling to amanda that she was really upset with herself. amanda hadn't even told her about the house she was going to see yet. she never got the chance to and now it was gonna be like a punch in the face.

she just got cheated on and now amanda had to tell her that she's looking to move out. "stas, about moving... i'm going to look at a house in calabasas with pete and kris today." stassie's eyes glossed over slightly when she looked up at her, and she quickly cleared her throat before speaking.

"oh. wow that's great mands. i'm super happy for you." replying she forced a smile. "stas it's okay if you're mad.. i didn't want to tell you like this especially while you're sad." amanda said, shaking her head.

"i'm fine mands. serious. like this is super exciting. can i come?" she smiled genuinely now, blinking away a few tears. "of course you can, pete's gonna come too though if you don't mind." amanda informed her as she stirred her coffee.

"mandi are you kidding? he's your boyfriend and this is your day i'm crashing. why would it bother me?"
stassie laughed hugging her, then took a drink of her coffee. "well i'm gonna get dressed then." with that she skipped down back to her bedroom. amanda knew that if this would help make her smile even for the day, then of course she could tag along.
