"Boss? Why does Pepper Potts have level 8 clearance? She's a civilian."

Fury raises an eyebrow. "She is dating Tony Stark. She already knows; everything."

"Mhmm." Coulson tells the newbie, "No matter what we do, SHIELD can't stop Tony from telling Pepper everything. It's useless to argue."

"So we just gave her the same clearance. Simple as that."

Yelena Belova was one of the victims of the snap. When she came back she tried calling Natasha. The first thing she did. She tried again and again and again. She was ready to fly over there herself when the news came on the T.V. She was dead. Her sister; her сестра was dead

She sank to her knees, the reporters unbothered voice fading to background noise. She was dead. She was dead and Yelena had to find out through some reporter on T.V. who did not give a damn about her sister. She was dead.

Yelena didn't know how much time had passed. She didn't want to get up. She wanted to close her eyes and go back to when Natasha was alive, however fake it may be. But she got up. She wore a coat and started her car. Melina and Alexei deserved to know.

Melina opened the door and noticed Yelena moving in a jerky robotic way. She asked what was wrong; worried but unburdened with grief.

Yelena couldn't say it. She tried, she tried so hard but she choked on her tears. She didn't even know when she had started crying. "Natasha-" she choked out. She shook her head and crumpled to the worn wooden floor.

Melina was crushed, but her daughter needed her. She kneeled next to Yelena and held her. Melina held her in a way she hadn't done since Ohio. She held her and cried. Tears of shock, tears of pain, tears of grief.

They remained there until Alexei came. They shakily got on their feet, with red eyes and tear tracks staining their cheeks. The broke the news. Natasha is dead.

He stumbled back. "It can't be true. Its not true. My girls are strong girls. My Natasha is strong." He denies it but it's already setting in. His daughter is dead. He leaves the room and slams the door shut. Melina and Yelena can hear the crashes and the swearing. They can hear his shaky voice and desperate sobs.

They were all familiar with death but...Natasha. She was always so strong, so untouchable. She could not be dead. Right?

But she was dead. So they tell drink and tell stories about her, about everything. They bury an empty casket in Ohio. She would want to be buried there. Her home. They have their own little funeral. Only the three of them.

They loved her. They grieved her. After all, what was grief but love persevering. But by the end of it, they feel raw and broken. They feel pain. Because sometimes pain doesn't make you stronger. Sometimes it just hurts.
