One more sleep. That is what Axel kept repeating to himself as he sat in his bed listening to his parents argue. His dad was drunk and his mom was high. The first time Axel tried to stop the fighting, he received a black-eye courtesy from his father. That was the last time Axel tried to fight his dad. He turned the volume of his TV up to try and drown out the angry shouts. Axel heard the creaking of his door and saw it was Martha, Edward, and Rhonda. "Can we stay with you for a little bit?", Edward asked, his brown eyes red from crying. Axel nodded, moving over and making room for his siblings to comfort them. "You can stay with me for the night of you want", Axel said as his siblings got comfortable. "Did mom and dad always fight when it was just you?", Rhonda asked, pushing her blonde hair out of her blue eyes. Axel took a deep breath before speaking, "Not, they never really did anything", he said. "I wonder if they started fighting because of us", Martha said in passing, focusing on the TV."No", Axel reassured, "They were unhappy way before you guys. It wasn't your fault, they just got miserable after nana died". "Oh well, can they just hurry up and get a divorce then", Edward said, "I need my sleep". This made Axel laugh even though his brother shouldn't be saying stuff like that. After an hour they fell asleep to the shouting.
