"So, what's up?", Axel asked, looking at Claire who looked ill, "Is everything okay?". "No, it really isn't", Claire answered, looking in Axel's eyes, "I have really fucked up". Axel stopped walking and Claire began crying. "What happened?", Axel asked, concern in his voice, "Did someone hurt you?". She shook her head as she tried to compose herself. She took a deep breath and looked at Axel. "I'm pregnant", she said, breaking down into tears again after she said it. Axel couldn't believe the words that came out of Claire's mouth and he just looked at her. "Oh my God", he said, "Claire. I don't know what to say". "I don't know what to do", she continued, wiping her eyes, "That's why I need to get in contact with Holden". Another bomb hit Axel when he realized Claire had come to him and Toby the night of the fiasco. "It's Holden's?", Axel said, raising his hand to his mouth, "Oh my God". "You and Toby are all I have", Claire said, "I told my mom and she kicked me out. Please, help me". Axel interlocked his fingers behind his head and looked at the ground; he had to go back and tell Toby.
The prison bus arrived at Requiem Foil Correctional Facility and a feeling of dread flowed through Holden's body. "Move it, kid", an officer shouted as Holden was snapped out of his trance. He got out of his seat and moved slowly so he didn't trip and fall flat on his face. "Move it!", the officer yelled as Holden made it down the steps of the bus and he got a good look at his new home. He took a deep breath and continued to walk with the other 15 prisoners who got off at this stop, the last visit being death row which was around the very back of the prison. Holden felt very small as they walked through the gates where a sniper was on the lookout over the dry, dusty prison yard. "Stop!", the prison officer shouted and the line of men stopped. The officer walked down the line and he stopped in front of Holden. "I thought we'd be getting you, " the bushy-eyed officer said, shaking his head and walking away. Holden knew it was only going to get harder from here.
