Holden's cell door opened and there was a huge male officer waiting on the other side with handcuffs. "Hands out", the man ordered and Holden did as he was asked. The handcuffs were biting his wrists and he couldn't wait to take them off already. "Legs apart", the officer ordered again and Holden once again did as asked. Ankle cuffs were put on his ankles and once again, he winced in pain as they were tightened. "Let's go", he said, grabbing Holden's arm and began walking with him. They walked into the reception area and Holden saw a police van outside and knew this was his ticket. The sun blinded him and he closed his eyes; he was taking in the last few moments he would really be outside. The bus door opened and Holden struggled to walk up the steps. When he made it up, he saw the other prisoners sizing him up already. He took a seat next to a gang member who growled in his ear; he was doomed.
Axel and Toby made it back to Toby's house and they stood in the driveway in silence. "Do you want to come in?", Toby asked, "Mom is probably making lunch right now". Axel shook his head, "No", he answered, "I have to get back anyway. I'll see you tomorrow maybe though? Or later tonight, depending on how I'm feeling". Toby nodded and clasped his hands together. "That's fair", he said, "Well, I'm always here. See you tomorrow or later". Axe gave a small smile and he turned around and began walking back to his house. The silence was once again soothing to him and let everything settle into his brain. Axel put his hands up to his face and just as he passed another estate, a classmate stopped him. "Axel! Axel!", a girl shouted, dropping her basketball and running over to him. He sighed and stopped, "Hi Claire", he said, forcing a smile, "How are you?". "Holden isn't coming back is he?", she said, looking into his eyes. "No, I don't think he is", Axel answered, "Why? What's up? Can I be of help?". Claire sucked between her teeth, opened her mouth and then closed it again. "Uhm, I'm not sure", she admitted, "Can I walk back with you?". Axel narrowed his eyes, but he didn't object and began walking back again. So much for his soothing silence.
