Chapter 3

***Marinette's POV***

My mom had called Alya to come help me to school, I didn't mind because it meant I got to hang out with my best friend for a little longer. But she kept quiet most of the way there.

"Alya, what's wrong?" I asked stopping at a crosswalk.

"Well, yesterday there was a fight." She started.

"And?"

"And Adrien was involved." She said.

"Why?!? What happened?!"

"Well he was defending you." She said shyly.

"From who?"

"Lila and Chloe" She said.

"What, why would he be defending me, they didn't do anything." I said I already knew what he would be defending me from but I hope no one else knew.

"Well, Mari" She said walking across the road "Adrien told me and Nino, we promised not to tell anyone, but they kept making him angrier and he lost his cool."

"Adrien lost his cool? Is that even possible?"

Alya gave out a small laugh.

"You can ask him yourself, but please don't get mad at him, he was only trying to protect you." she said.

We were at the school, since we were early we decided we would just hang out in the classroom. When we walked in we saw Adrien and Nino talking.

"Hey Mari." Nino said.

"Hey guys." I said sitting down.

"How are you feeling?" Adrien asked me.

"I'm feeling ok," I said "I heard there was a fight yesterday."

Adrien bit his lip.

"Yeah you should have seen it Adrien completely lost his cool, honestly I thought it was awesome." Nino said excitedly but Adrien did not look happy.

"Yeah I'm sorry a bunch of people know now. I didn't mean to I just, well you know." He said quietly.

"Adrien don't worry I'm not mad, I'm just scared its going to happen again."

They sat in silence.

"What's that!?" Alya yelled pointing out the window.

It was an Akuma, great, I could barely walk and I was going to need to fight an Akuma. Adrien stood up.

"Alya, Nino you guys need to get Marinette out!" He said starting to run towards the door.

"Where are you going?" Alya asked.

"I'm going to pull the fire alarm to get people out." He said running out.

Alya started running towards the door as well.

"And where are you going?" Nino asked.

"I'm getting a scoop for the Lady blog! Nino, get Marinette out of here!" She said running out

Nino helped me out and we started making our way towards my house when the Akuma jumped in front of us, knocking us back. I could feel the pain rising through my back as I hit the cement. Nino immediately jumped up and ran over to help me. He helped me up but I collapsed in my own weight. I gasped in pain and the Akuma wiped around to see me and Nino struggling

"Go." I said.

"No way." he said trying to help me up again.

The Akuma was leafy and green and she seemed to be wrapping people up in her vines only for them to be crushed if they didn't know where Ladybug was. She went to grab Nino but I pushed him out of the way. The sharp thorns stuck in my sides, and she was squeezing me. I started to cry from the pain. Where was Chat noir? I heard Nino and Alya, who had saw what happened and had ran over, trying to get her attention so she would let me go but she was too distracted with me.
