5 : 「Distance」

Y/n rose up from her futon and proceeds to fold the futon up. What was her dream exactly? After a whole year of waiting, she finally spoke to Tomo, she finally got the chance to feel his touch for after so long, to her it was only a dream.

Y/n sighed and went to the kitchen to prepare her breakfast. "Did that old man even eat before leaving for work", y/n muttered under her breath, who knows if her father has eaten before going to work, she rarely sees him ever since her mother died, but because of this, y/n learned how to be independent, she learned how to take care of herself thanks to her friends who which left her.

"i have a feeling today will be a really weird day, ugh", y/n huffed as she began to brew some tea and ate the onigiri she prepared. She looked out the open window to see the still-empty street of Inazuma, the weather is slowly becoming cold.

Y/n hopes that her dream would come true.

It is seven in the morning, an hour too early for Y/n to grow frustrated, she was internally debating whether her dream was real or not. 'it felt too real' she thought.

Y/n was so lost in her train of thoughts she didn't even know what was happening anymore.

"Y/n...?", Kazuha snapped his finger in front of y/n's face as he leaned forward through the open window from outside. "earth to y/n?" Kazuha repeated, trying to catch her attention.

Kazuha sighed.

"Ah--! Tomo! mind helping me catch y/n's attention?", Kazuha shouted as he looked in a different direction.

Y/n finally came back to her senses, "wait so I wasn't dreaming?!", Y/n grabbed Kazuha by his muffler and pulled him towards herself which startled the ruby-eyed boy.

"ah-- what do you mean by that?", Kazuha asked, left confused but he soon realized how close he is to her.

"Y/n, can you please let me go? I don't want to trespass your personal space" Kazuha placed his hands on the girl's wrists.

"Oh, sorry", Y/n lets him go and just looked into his eyes.

"Since when did you get here?", she asked. "Just a few minutes ago, I was about to knock on your front door but I saw the kitchen window open only to be met by you", Kazuha explained.

"It's too early Kazuha, shouldn't you be tired from all the work you've been doing recently?", Y/n prepared the now brewed tea.

"Captain Beidou has been really busy with personal stuff and she told me to stay in Inazuma for a while, I've been temporarily staying in the traveler's teapot", Kazuha crossed his arms.

"Ah...it's weird to casually say you live in a teapot you know?" Y/n teased. "Oh, by the way...", Kazuha faced Y/n once again.

"Wanna accompany me with clearing hilichurl camps? They're all over byakko plains again and it's scaring the locals" The platinum blond-haired boy fixed his muffler.

"A hilichurl might eat me, you know I don't have a vision, right?" Y/n poured the tea on a yunomi cup.

"You have the same strength level as Tomo anyway...well, still not as strong as me though, but I never said you have to fight, I just want you to be there", Kazuha then looked up to see y/n's bored face.

"H-hey, I'm not pressuring you to go with me, I'm just asking if you want to go or not, it's your choice anyway", His face obviously showed that he's embarrassed.

"I want to go with you so I could go stronger", Y/n took a sip of her tea, "I want you to continue training me" she quietly says. Kazuha just gave her a soft smile in return.
